Stargazer555 Posted January 30 Share Posted January 30 I want to create a "Vertibird Loitering" mod that will modify the existing Brotherhood of Steal vertibird fast travel feature so as to loiter around an specific area (practically speaking it will orbit where the signal grenade landed to a set radius and altitude) 1. The existing Vertibird signal grenade in game will be unmoddified it will call the vertibird to the position of the signal grenade as intended. 2. The Vertibird once landed and the player has selected the standard in game option to "ride" it, the player will be prompted to "Initiate Loitering" with the options "yes" or "no" If yes the veritbird will begin to loiter around the area in a circular orbit with set radius and altitude 3. An Aid item called a "Vertibird Command Radio" will be added to the players inventory immediately on loading into the game and will modify the behaviour of the vertibird once loitering has taken effect. Once selected in the pip boy (making sure its not a consumable and will permentaly remain in the inventory unless droped or stored) on leaving the pipboy menu the a "command Menu" dialogue appears and presents the following options: 3a. "Land" when selecting this option the menu will disappear and the vertibird will land, either at the orginal location where the signal grenade was thrown or if hostiles are nearby the orginal location it will find a safe location with flat terrain nearby to make a landing. The veritbird will follow the same usually behaviour of waiting for the player to fast travel or dismount. Once landed no prompt will appear until the player has left the vertibird and rid it again then the prompt to loiter yes or no will appear, or if the loiter option was chosen from the command menu before leaving it once it has landed it will begin to loiter at the new location. 3b. "Fast Travel" If this option is selected from the command menu once loitering has been intitiated, the pip boy location map will appear and once a location selected the player exists the pip boy and the vertibird will stop loitering and head to that selected fast travel location and following the same usual behaviour 3c."Loiter" Will have the functionality discussed above and will do nothing if selected whilst already loitering (loiter radius and altitude could be adjustable via a "Loiter Parameters" option in the command menu) 3d. "Dismount Minigun" This is part of the "own weapons" feature of the mod allowing the player to use their inventory weapons whilst the vertibird loiters. Once selected from the command menu the player will dismount from the vertibird minigun and said minigun will become invisible with the collision turned off allowing the player to shoot through the mini gun. The camera limitations will remain the same as when using the mounted minigun with the player is still fixed to the same position as when firing the mounted minigun. However they can aim freely with their own weapons from their inventory (giving the illusion as if they have upper body movement but can not move from their actual loation just like when using the mounted minigun (no animation tweaks and minor camera tweaks to enhance field of view). 5. "The Mount Minigun" Return the minigun to standard appearance essentially undoing the dismounting and returning to the default. Hope I was clear enough, if anyone want to work with me or guide me in making this mod it would be much appreciated.
