If you searched the this forum at all, it happens because Nexus is trying to make it easier for themselves to keep users updated on ANY games that they might wish to install/play. I believe that the option to remove one might be a failsafe if one refuses to auto-update, but I see no remove option in the Extensions tab. If you will check, I believe that each extension is only a few kb in size, so there really shouldn't be any problem, even if you are a control freak like I am...
