Magic/Spells/Animation/Combat

I notice most mods for oblivion for magic, and spells, just really go for either god like effects and damage, or for sheer texture look. This really sucks because I look at these mods and i never download them because of this, I used to download them to test, but now I really think theres nothing for it. What I would look for is something like Rain Of Fire, or Tempest Storm. These are good for the visual eye candy, and it rocks. I mean fire raining from the sky and lighting storms with frost = pwnage spell. Next is for mages... the combat really looks dry, you just kinda sit there and cast, nothing special, I think what needs to be done is have actual staff combat looks as well as hand to hand combat looks for spells/magic. Such as animation like spell singer.. but less gay looking. Not to go criticising everyone but thats just the raw truth (I think) And I know this is gonna piss alot of people off and all, and I don't mean to be harsh or try to make people mad, but thats just what I think. Another thing is fighting with weapons... The skills are completely sucky, DMC stylish 'is' nice yes, but who wants to work up mastery in combat JUST so they can use a 1 hit or 1 strike attack? If anyone has ever played PSU (Phantasy Star Universe) or PSO (Phantasy Star Online) Then you know just as much as I do, that those animation for melee combat kick azz, and I'd really like to see something like that as a powermove for oblivion combat. ^^ But by all means and intention this is really just suggestion and hope that something 'might' come out that is actually not just another house mod, or crappy spell effects mod. (Not to say the authors of those don't try, but people go looking for mods to change the original oblivion, not to get a higher dose of the old version of it) So I just hope someone comes out with a super pwnage mod soon. Or if it's already out and I don't know about it, let me know. (As far as I've seen, only UV *Unnecessary Violence* and DMC stylish are good and compatible with no problem whatsoever, and StarX Vanilla Vamps Revised. And spell mods like Rain of Fire, or Tempest storm, as well as some Midas spells.)

Sorry mate, but it had to be done.

I didn't mean to insult you, neither do I now. All I intended was to to show you how your post might sound for others.

I understand that you are quite enthusiastic about finding more mods to your liking. But the way you presented yourself and talked about some mods and modders is just inappropriate. Show some respect.

You could, for example, have written something like this:

I've seen quite a lot of good mods here that improve Oblivion's combat system and cosmetics. Such mods as Midas Magic, DMC Stylish or Unnecessary Violence. Are there any other mods like that?

Thank you!

Yes, there are. Deadly Reflex, for example. Or Supreme Magicka. And lots and lots of others. You don't have to like them. Not all of them are good. But seeing that you have released... 0 mods, you could at least show some appreciation for the effort that went into them. Even if you don't really mean it.

PS: I hope you're not mad at me now.

I am not mad whatsoever, I know other modders DO try, and I am not putting them down, the ones you mentioned I HAVE tried, and they don't cope well with each other. Well.. at least not with UV. Sorry if I come off a bit harsh, but that was just how I put it, not like I can reverse time and repost. And I have tried a whole lotta mods, so many that I lose count >.<, and I am not speaking for everyone. But I have checked with other ppl on this idea, they say it has potential to take a new look on modding of Oblivion. It was never intended to say that every mod is crap, just that by how many downloads each mod gets usually means people like it. And based off what I've seen the ammount of downloads on the ones I mentioned are pretty high. Which probably means alot of ppl use them and can relate to them, so saying them probably helps people relate to what I am thinking about.
