Not sure if this is possible, but the only thing that makes blacksmithing a bit of a pain is not being able to tell where you are going to strike.

If there was a small dot showing where you are planning to strike it would make it more enjoyable, at least for me.

It helped me to switch a bit with the rhythm. First move the piece while you still see the hammer, then charge the strike without moving anymore. I guess a reticle would help, though.

It was hard for the first few attempts, but it gets much easier when you get used to how much your mouse movement is going to move the hammer and in what direction
