Illvilja
Hello everyone! soo I downloaded skyrim SE (version 1.6.1170) and of course, I had a go at a bunch of mods including stuff like racemenu and skyUI. Both of which require SKSE64... which I downloaded and at first I thought just "install from file" via vortex would do the job, but it doesn't seem to be the case. launching through vortex would give me a skyui error 1 code, and after looking up some other people with the same issue I decided to try and manually installing it, using the readme instructions, but I get this error when I try to launch via the skse64_loader.exe thingie. I downloaded the game literally yesterday so I doubt there was an update in such a brief amount of time... But then again I'm a beginner at modding so I may have messed up along the way somehow. Please help me ;v; idk what to do at this point. I'll gladly share any other information needed too! Thank you in advance!
7531Leonidas
This SKSE error message is actually pretty clear, it is telling you something is wrong with the EngineFixes .dll. This often happens when Engine Fixes is not installed properly. Go back to the Engine Fixes mod page, and make sure that you d/l BOTH parts (1 and 2) for v. 1.6.1170, and that you installed part 2 manually into the file location specified in the mod instructions (manually meaning that you either extracted it from the zip directly into the target folder, or that you extracted it to your desktop or somewhere similar, and copied and pasted to that location). While you are at it, also go to SSE Engine Fixes - Modified .toml File Only For SSE v1.6.1130 and v1.6.1170 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/108069 ), and likewise install it. Illvilja
Thank you so much!! I followed what you said and tried a few times again, and now the game loads correctly... and crashes a few seconds later :')) I'm thinking of removing all the mods and start from 0 now that I AT LEAST have skse seemingly working properly. Hope you have a nice day, and thank you again for your help!
7531Leonidas
You can find logs for SKSE mod start ups in the ...Users\(Your User Name)\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE. There might be a hint or two for which mod(s) are not working properly.
