Nightlain
Game: Avowed Mod Request: Blurry Distant Atmosphere Fix All distant atmospheric effects are extremely pixelated. Adding additional graphics info in spoiler as well as what I've attempted to fix this. Also attaching picture for reference. EDIT: Picture had to be compressed to be attached so some of the pixelation isn't as obvious. I uploaded a better picture to my profile. Spoiler I bought the battle net version of Avowed not realizing that it does not come with DLSS 4. Nvidia is also unable to optimize it despite this option being available for the Steam version so I am not able to force the game to use DLSS 4. I have a 4060 card and Nvidia is updated to the most recent version. I have tried basically all of the fixes I've read from some of the engine.ini fixes on Nexus to using the DLSS-Updater to make the game run on DLSS 4, but without the Nvidia optimization I am not able to use it fully. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Nvidia app as well as my drivers just to be safe, and I've even tried using chatGPT to form some of my own code to attempt to fix the smoke/fog/clouds with no success (note: I did not keep this, merely an attempt to see if there was an easy fix before coming here). All of my settings are set to Ultra and I've used some of the fixes found on here with no success. I did try one of the shadow fixes on here and found it actually made it worse by making atmospheric effects that were close have pixelation as well so I removed it. Here's what it looks like with that: https://www.nexusmods.com/avowed/images/96 This is not a "distance fog" problem but a specific problem with distant atmospheric effects such as light, smoke, and clouds all appearing like I booted up the Sims 1. EDIT: (3/2/25) Currently have an open ticket with Obsidian who is looking into this. If they provide a fix I will share it for anyone else who may be struggling with this problem. armycak108
Helmet ID Codes in Avowed Hey everyone, I’ve been digging into Avowed’s item ID codes, specifically for helmets, and I’ve hit a roadblock. So far, I’ve discovered that there are three distinct helmet designs, but out of those, only one design seems to be widely available through ID codes—it looks like they used it as a placeholder in multiple instances. However, I’ve come across two unique helmet designs worn by NPCs that don’t seem to have corresponding item IDs (or at least, I haven’t been able to find them yet). If anyone has found these missing helmet IDs, or has any insight into where they might be buried in the game files, I’d really appreciate the help! What I Know So Far: One design is commonly found across multiple item IDs. Two designs are worn by NPCs but seem to be missing from standard item lists. If anyone has been digging through the game files, using console commands, or extracting asset data, please share what you’ve found! Let’s compile a full list of helmet IDs so we can access all available designs. Thanks in advance! Looking forward to seeing what the community can uncover.
