EthanOvsak
So I just got back into FO4 modding today, and spent a bunch of time figuring out MO2, installing mods, having bad framerates, uninstalling mods, still having bad framerates (I have a beefy computer), doing a complete reinstall, then finally solving the framerate issue (it was the TAA antialiasing). But before I figured that out I wanted to get back to vanilla, and some of the HUD changes still remained after disabling the mods. So instead of just asking how to fix it like a sane person, I just went in deleting files and hoped it would help. It didn't. After a few minutes, I realized that nuking my DEF_CONF folder was a horrible idea; I re-enabled some of my mods, hoping that they might include the missing files, or at least have the mod manager give me an error telling me I've been a very naughty boy. But it didn't. Absolutely no change, and I'm still stuck with the same problem. I looked through some forum threads that had the same error message, (Check DEF_INV_TAGS.xml whenever you open a container), and they said to run HUDMenuSet, but it turns out I don't have that either (yes I checked the interface folder). I don't remember deleting it, but nonetheless, it's not there. So, after all of that, does anyone know how I can get myself out of this pickle? (feel free to berate me in the replies, I very much deserve it).

Easiest fix is to reinstall DEF_UI—just download it fresh and overwrite everything. That should restore the missing files. Also, might wanna verify game files through Steam to be safe. Lesson learned, lol.
EthanOvsak
Looks like DEF_UI doesn't have the files I need, I remember there being two .swf files as well as the DEF_INV, which also aren't restored by verifying game files (I guess Steam doesn't perceive them as necessary since the game technically runs without them). So I'm just going to completely reinstall the game (again). But thanks for the help regardless.
