How do I use modded armors/weapons on a custom follower without them being dependent on the mods that installed their equipment?

I'm sort of new to the creation kit but I really want to make a follower mod, but I'd also like them to look the way I want them to. I know I have to get permission for the specific mods, and I'll try, but I just really want to know how to get this to work without it being dependent.
