Need advice on body mods.. Clipping on CBBE Physics

Hi guys,

Im having some problems with the CBBE physics on normal non-physics equipment. Disclaimer: I obviously understand that physics enabled equipment have special bones/properties embedded in their .nif, if it does not have, the physics does not work.

Although I do not mind not having physics for everything, I was wondering if there was a way to silo the body mods. Meaning: normal basis (nude), and physics enabled equipment = CBBE physics body preset; non-physics enabled equipment = CBBE standard (same preset but without physics option)

If it is possible, and the steps on how I can do it please? been playing around with BodySlide and Outfit studio but im pulling my hair out trying to figure it out... Maybe my logic deduction aint the best haha, maybe the workaround is fairly simple... not sure..

Calling for an SOS..

Thanks!!

Here's the clip on vimeo of what i mean. Thanks!

Afaik CBP works similar to the mod I use and adds special bones to the body and, when converted, to clothings. You can only have one body and if it has the physics it can clip through clothings without physics and without a body inside (e.g. like a single top). When only the clothings have the physics applied it could be that the clothed body jiggles and the nude one not. If you want to go the way with the additional bones you will have to add these to all clothings you want to use and which cover the related body parts. On LL you find the mods "OCBP" and "OCPBC" that work different, but for these you would have to change the body and clothings that already have physics, because mixing will bring weird results.

Thanks SA. Hmm.. .. I use OCBP, but again, its quite confusing. Is it easy to add physics into clothes? what do i have to do?

Sadly I cannot say anything about OCBP, but from what I see this mod should automatically be applied to body and outfits. Mods that work with additional bones to nifs are e.g. Cherry Hotaling's Physics (what I use), Panundrum's Physics, etc. For these mods it's true that non converted clothings need the bones to be applied manually. Anyway do not mix. Adding additional bones for a.m. mods is a bit of work, but no rocket science. The bones are then baked into the nifs and again that would bring weird results when you use OCBP together with it. In case you want to try Cherry's or Panundrum's Physics you can come back and I'd help you, but this would mean not to use OCBP and in case you don't like it it's work to remove the physics.

  • Open BodySlide and select CBBE Body Physics.
  • Adjust your preset and Save As (e.g., CBBE Physics Preset).
  • Now switch to CBBE Body (non-physics) and load the same preset.
  • Save As again (e.g., CBBE Standard Preset).
    In BodySlide, select:

    Go to:
    Fallout 4\Data\Meshes\Actors\Character\CharacterAssets\

    Rename the files:
  • femalebody.nif (Physics) → femalebody_physics.nif
  • femalebody.nif (Non-Physics) → femalebody_standard.nif

Since Fallout 4 does not have built-in armor-dependent body swaps, you have two main options:

  • Open FO4Edit and create an override of all non-physics armors.
  • Assign them to use femalebody_standard.nif instead of the default one.
  • Save the ESP and activate it.

Depending on the outfit you can also use Buffout's custom armor swapping
