glasshorse017
I want to say up top, I’m aware that NPC duplication mods exist, but that’s not quite what I’m going for. Also, I’m as green as green could be when it comes to modding. For me, there’s only two base classes without Companion representation in the game, which are Bards and Sorcerers (since double Druids happen in the base game, I respec Jaheira into Ranger and Minsc into Monk). The Alfira Joins The Party mod adds Bard into the list of Companion representation, so in my mind, we’re only missing Sorcerer. Since there’s so few Sorcerers in the game (total of 5, according to the Wiki, and one of them is a hireling), the pool to choose from is low, but there’s an obvious answer, at least to me. It’s someone who’s even on the box cover, Mizora. First of all, she has to survive Moonrise, obviously. My next idea is two scenarios, based around Ulder Ravengard being alive or dead before talking to her after the coronation: 1) If Ulder Ravengard is dead, she either brings him back to life and binds Wyll for eternity, or Wyll breaks the pact (like normal), and then she’s able to be recruited or refused as a companion then and there, to Wyll’s disapproval or approval. 2) If Ulder Ravengard is alive, she still shows up at camp during the beginning of act 3 to offer Wyll the choice (kill Ulder or learn his location), but whatever Wyll’s choice is, she doesn’t hang around as a “camp follower”, and she disappears like she often does. Given scenario #2 happening, after the events in the Iron Throne prison, I’d like Mizora to then show up at camp and say that she’s decided to stick around (whatever her usual dialogue was when she became a camp follower). Here, you could actually refuse her (to Wyll’s approval) and she would then legitimately disappear back to Avernus forever, or, you could accept her as a companion (to Wyll’s disapproval). The reason to wait until after the Iron Throne prison is that she’s possibly required to appear if Ravengard is alive and Wyll broke his pact. After all that, she’s basically the same as the Alfira mod; no “new dialogue” or anything, except she keeps her other dialogue/interactions the same (PC can still have the one night stand if they wish). I’m thinking that she keeps the base Cambion features from BG3, but perhaps adding the free ability to Fly. She should lose “Zariel’s protection” because that would be super lame to keep on her. I was even thinking it would be cool for her to have a spell that could transform her to her “human” likeness and back, if people wanted to have her walk around as human and not Cambion. As far as Equipment, I was thinking she could have her usual dress be her camp clothes, which you could enable “wear camp clothes all the time” and you’d be able to gear her up like normal, but then she can still wear her iconic Cambion outfit. Or, if you’d rather her wear Robes or Armor, you can have the freedom to make her look just the way you like. You’re probably asking, why not just use the duplication mod? To put it simply, I just don’t care too much if she’s just a reskin. I think it would be amazing to go talk to her and hear her say “ready and waiting”. I want to ask her to join my party, and her to say “Our future together looks real bright… and dark, as the newest moon” etc. If someone wants to make this mod, I’d be eternally grateful, but if instead someone could give some guidance on how to make this myself, that’s wonderful too. I started going through the BG3 website mod guides, but they don’t seem to be geared to guiding me on how to accomplish what I hope to accomplish with this mod. Anyway, if you got all the way to the bottom of this book, thanks for reading, and I hope to hear back from anyone reading!
