New UI - Accessibility feedback

It's too dark.

Just plain and simple; too dark, too high of a contrast which negatively affects the eyes (at least, my eyes).

The color scheming of the old site should not have been a casualty of the redesign.  If anything, it should've been added as a user customization choice.  Always this should be, but it's routinely ignored, like most accessibility issues.

I haven't spent enough time using the new layout to form an opinion on it overall, but I really, really dislike that I cannot type into the search bar without the entire webpage being obscured.

Wow, didn't even see this was the case; yeah that is completely awful.

ITAD did a redesign and grossly destroyed the usability of the site and has this same issue (but worse as it shows the same image from the 404 page until you enter something), and despite having direct contact with the creator and writing some rather giant e-mails, nothing was really improved.

Full page obfuscation, or worse, a popup that unexpectedly changes the location of your focus, is not a positive thing.  Search should always be inline from where it is, and it used to be perfectly fine; only negative would be its smaller size.

I fully agree that the new UI is too dark. It ends up looking way too cluttered, and i keep having trouble distinguishing between the "cards" when scrolling mods. The whole site is now causing a lot of eyestrain, and i simply can't use Nexusmods for any longer than a few minutes at a time to look for mods because of how annoyingly straining the new UI is on the eyes. I desperately hope that we can get some more neutral and less intense use of color, especially as mod authors add color to the site themselves through the use of the mod thumbnails. It almost feels as if these thumbnails weren't considered when updating the UI. This update comes across as a whole lot of work for no reason other than making an otherwise good website worse to use and access.

New notification drop-down is inaccessible! It cuts off half of a notification. I don't want to "see all" to check one or two of them.

Wish I wouldn't have to do the extra step of doing a search by keyword to get to the search by found in description. People sometimes give their mods crazy names so searching for keywords rarely gives me a list of mods that I am actually searching for.

Also I don't want to search anything else besides mods almost 100% of the time, so make it that I can set a preference so I don't have to do the extra clicks to get to the list of mods.

Logged in to echo this. Why on earth would I want a search made within a game's subdomain to search all other games, let alone users and various stuff that has nothing to do with actual mods?

On top of which, only showing the first six (?) results and requiring another click to view all, then needing to re-sort them, is a huge waste of time.

Default search should be mod search with expanded results. This is going to comprise the vast majority of your search traffic in-site. The other stuff should be accessible via a click, not fed to the user by default.
