Stuck at Utilities section of Viva New Vegas

Hello everyone,

I am trying to set up mods according to VNV for the GOG version and I'm stuck at the last step where after I launch the game the ML Utilities Checker is supposed to show a message. In my case nothing happens; the game launches but there is no message. Either I am launching the game wrong or something is missing.

Since I'm on Linux I am using Limo as my mod manager, but the principle should be the same. Here is what I did:

  • Patch the vanilla executable with the 4GB patch
  • Run the FNV BSA Decompressor over the game's directory
  • Run Ultimate Edition ESM fixes to create a new folder `Fixed ESMs`, imported that folder as a mod which writes its contents to the `Data` folder (should I have written the content to the root folder instead?)
  • Added NVSE xNVSE as a mod which will be applied both to the root folder and the data folder (Limo is clever and split the one mod into two)
  • Added the remaining mods from Nexus Mods to be installed into the `Data` folder
  • Added ML Utilities Checker as a mod that will be installed into the `Data` folder
  • Manually created `Documents/My Games/FalloutNV/FalloutCustom.ini` and pasted the contents into that file
  • Finally I deployed all the mods

I can see the files from all the mods are now present in the game folder, so the mod manager did its thing.

The question is, which executable am I supposed to launch? I have tried `nvse_loader.exe` and `FalloutNV.exe`, neither of them shows the popup. Do I need to set any command-line arguments? When I open the console I get this text:

xNVSE 6.3.10
CrashLogger: 5.14
JIP LN version: 57.30
JohnnyGuitar version: 5.15
kNVSE version 37
ShowOff xNVSE version:1.80

So I must have done something right. Is something missing from that list?
