They're being completely coherent and following the rules. It's just that they're following clear-but-unwritten ideological rules, which trump what is written here. 🤨

Personally, I'm more annoyed by them returning it purely to avoid some of the heat (and pretending that's not why). Pretty sure the author is still banned and, because of the bs a while back he doesn't really own/control the mod, he can't pull a pretty justified "you made your bed, now lie in it" and delete it.

I don't know.... Nexus is not always consistent in what they allow, and what they don't. There are several examples in recent memory, that brought up controversies all their own. I am reluctant to point them out, as I do not wish to be labeled as a 'pot-stirrer'...... I've been here a long time, and have seen things change, sometimes dramatically, and not always for the better..... But, hey, it's their site, they can run it their way.

When I first played the game, I had no idea what Type 1 and Type 2 were. I thought it had something to do with the fact that the race I picked could be from two different areas. My husband got a good laugh out of it when I told him. I must be really getting old.

Nexus Mods is consistent in their moderation of mod uploads in that they don't allow mods that make the site worse for the majority of users.  Two mods can seem similar but if one stirs up a rats nest and the other doesn't that is enough to differentiate their treatment.

That's why the rules include "we won't host any mod we don't want to." That gives them leeway to do what they think is best for the site and ignore the rules lawyers and whatabouters.

If thats true, and if the folks running Nexus want to be seen as consistent and fair, will they allow more mods that they may not agree with in the future? because just like what was pointed out earlier, if enough people started getting offended by NSFW Mods in the Future, or Mods that allow players to kill children in games, will they be consistent in pulling those down, if it truly is about hosting mods that starts Trolling or Heated debates? Or will they shift the Goal Post everytime someone uploads a new mod a that the Nexus Crew doesn't like? Because right now their defence of saying they dont want more Duplicate Mods make no sense since so many duplicates exist already on the platform.

Not to necro (but actually to necro) this post but the amount of people engaging in bad faith and intentionally obtuse reasoning here is mind blowing.

We have people cosplaying as trans people (yes, if you're mad at a body type selector and think transphobia is the fault of people who are victimized by it rather than the ACTUAL transphobes, I don't actually believe you're a trans person - I believe you're just cosplaying as one in an attempt to make a point), people pretending like white supremacists and homophobes don't intentionally mod any minority groups out of their games, and pretending that they don't usually do it under the false narrative that they "just like their game better that way."

I'm a trans person and a member of an ethnic-minority group; while I don't care about a body type slider - there's no reasonable argument that could be made that would say it ISN'T an objectively more inclusive way to create a self representation within a video game. People like to pretend like we are this small subset of gamers, but there's an entire joke about almost the entirety of the New Vegas community being trans or nonbinary people. That joke didn't come from nowhere, it came from actual cultural norms within gaming.

Nexus mods is aware that there is a large plurality of gamers who are trans, nonbinary, part of an ethnic-minority group, or otherwise noncis and nonwhite. Let's stop pretending like it's the tiny, infinitely small percentage that shouldn't really matter. They are aware that - in order to foster a welcoming community, they have to be careful about what they allow - because so many online gamer communities descend into these alt-right slurfests that are openly hostile to anyone nonwhite, noncis, nonstraight, and honestly - non-conservative. Just because you can't see us doesn't mean we're not there, it just means that you probably move in social groups that aren't very welcoming to us, so we don't solicit them.

I want to make it clear, I'm on team "any mod should be allowed at any time for any reason (outside pedo garbage and other disgusting s#*! like that)," but the amount of you approaching this topic in bad faith is absolutely ridiculous. I can understand why Nexus is acting the way they are, anyone with the ability to critically think can - and you can too; they're trying to cultivate a welcoming community of modders - and it's really hard to curate gaming spaces when it's so easy for them to descend into far-right chicanery if you allow them to get their grubby little piss stained claws into them. We don't post mods that exclude entire groups of people from our games - there's only one group of people who does that, and we all know who it is.

If you're a part of that group, I don't care - have fun playing your game your way. I'm not here to tell you how to play it or what to enjoy, I'm just pointing out how silly all this fence sitting and pretend "nuanced discussion" is - when EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US knows what you actually think of us if you're ACTUALLY mad about this.

Having the words "male and female" in a character creator is in no way offensive to trans, nonbinary, or minority people, considering it's an option mod that no one is required to download. If you don't want it, you literally don't have to download it. It in no way fosters a hostile community to any group. If comments or discourse are out of line, then moderate that. Don't wholesale remove mods that many, many people want.

Literally they already changed the remaster to accommodate you.
