I know it's possible because I've already done it completely by accident:

But now I cannot replicate it. This is a Body Type 1 (female) exclusive hair on Body Type 2 (male). Please, my kingdom for this hair and all the other unavailable hairs on Body Type 2. And vice-versa, if you want to overachieve.

Allowed you to do this through console commands, but with its latest update, you can do so outside of the console command window and with a GUI.
