TheXXI Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I want to reproduce the scene in an open world space. To do this, I need to disable various random encounters, spawn of hostile creatures and dragons during this scene. Is it possible to do this in the main open space, or is it easier to create a separate world space for this?
TheInadvertantBadger Posted May 2 Posted May 2 While it's not impossible to do in an already existing exterior worldspace, making 100% certain that no encounters or events occur in the midst of the scene seems like it would be a challenge. These possibilities multiply when installed mods are introduced, as mods sometimes add encounters of their own, which may not play by the same rules as the already existing ones. Were it me, I would likely create a story-appropriate space for the scene to play out, simply due to how much less work it would take to make sure things play out exactly as I want them to, as well as how much less of a chance things could go wrong overall. But that's just me. It may also depend on the story, if there is one. For instance, if the city of Dawnstar (an open worldspace with a random encounter zone nearby, which almost always triggers when arriving via fast travel, and can be easy to miss) plays an integral role in your planned story, you may have to consider whether it makes sense to have an entire worldspace or interior cell just for a single scene, rather than having it take place in the exterior cell(s) of Dawnstar itself. Should you go for the existing worldspace option: REs and standard spawns are two different types. The random encounter spawns are typically script-driven, and standard spawns and spawn points have been placed by hand, and may be more predictable. 1
