Handling of content that doesn't meet adult content guidelines

I personally didn't have any issues with it yet but there are some shots that might be considered "NSFW" that i really want to post on nexus. I rly don't understand how it it possible for mod previews to be nsfw and not get taken down, however posting a NSFW image is? Kinda icky abt that decision in all honesty. Just two days ago a skyrim modder i follow posted a prevoew image of an armor where you can fully see the exposed breasts of a char..

People get banned for posting adult images where they're not allowed, not just for posting them.  More specifically, they usually get banned for reposting them or repeatedly posting similar images while ignoring moderator warnings.

I really don't understand how "No NSFW images in the regular imageshare" is difficult for people.

Some people may not understand. Some understand, but some of them don't care if there is no decent alternative space for them. They will break rules if this is the only way to post their artworks.

And this reply of yours is missing the point. This thread is about acknowledging need from community and creating a decent space for questionable and NSFW artworks, just like many other pages have.

Honestly, I don't care about NexusMods as a platform. Why would I? Let staff run this page as they want. Technically there are better platforms for virtual photography. But as far as I know, only here people have built up a community where creators who post their work can expect some heartfelt comments that multiplied over time can turn into friendships. And I want to keep those people together, nobody left behind. It's the only reason why I have created this thread.

Title: Fully Support These Changes - I've Been Affected Too!

I 100% agree with OP's points! NexusMods' current moderation standards are seriously problematic.

My personal experience:

  • The image I uploaded didn't contain any nudity—just slightly sexy armor/clothing designs

  • Got forcibly removed + received a staff warning

This "guilty until proven innocent" approach:

  1. Kills creative motivation – Now I'm afraid to share anything even slightly suggestive

  2. Wastes everyone's time – Staff wastes effort on false positives, users stress over random bans

  3. Turns the Supporters section into a creator graveyard – Moved content might as well be deleted

"I don't want to follow the site rules" is not an excuse.   Ever.

And there is a place to post NSFW art.  It's the Supporter section.  If that's not good enough for you then DON'T post your artwork.

The number of people who have access to the Supporter section is huge.  If it's not that active it's not due to a lack of people that can access it.

No need to get angry 🤗❤️

You show very lawful attitude. Ready to follow the rules. But some people understand that rules, like other things created by people, can have flaws, room for improvement and may require change.

NexusMods have different approach than yours, fortunately. They want to listen to community and improve. Presence of this feedback section shows it.

And you forgot to address "questionable" category that I mentioned in the part of my message you replied to - and this is most important one, because this is the type of content getting most trouble with current rules and shape of the website.

Source, please. What is the distribution between Members, Supporters and Premium users?

I guess you are trying to say that any content that is not SFW matching adult content guidelines is not attractive enough?

My observation is that same photos that were receiving significant positive attention and feedback in regular images area, get a small fraction of previous endorses and comments, despite being published for a longer period of time than before the move.

Also I don't see that questionable or NSFW photos have worse ratings here: https://bsky.app/hashtag/Cyberpunk2077Photomode

Actually, top NSFW post I found has 125 upvotes there, much more than anything else.

I have never been banned, but I have had two  photos removed in the past. I have seen others under moderation and some even banned, which until recently I did not know they could or would do.

Maybe the guide lines could be clearer or more consistent, adult content is a touchy subject , some people can take offence to the smallest infraction of a sexual nature, yet accept the violence.

It is just a game after all, if they do not like aspects of it don't play it if they find a photo or video offensive don't look at it. I wish it could be that simple

Yes, so this additional level of classification would be very useful for various groups of people.

I guess I might not share this idea, but for R rated, 18+ games like Cyberpunk (and other games that happen to develop a lot of adult mods and photos) there could be different approach.

Such slider:

SFW <====== O =====> NSFW
      QUESTIONABLE

Its purpose: for such games content should be questionable by default and users, instead of being asked to optionally mark content as questionable or NSFW, they would actually make conscious action to mark content as SFW, declaring clearly that it is applicable to all audiences. People tend to put more weight to actions than to passiveness, so they would give it much more thought before marking content SFW.

And technically it doesn't have to be a slider if that would be too much work, it can be a bunch of radio buttons:

🔳 SFW  🔲 Questionable  🔳 NSFW
