Hear me out on this one. I know Skyrim's sneak system can be a bit goofy sometimes, walking right in front of NPCs and them not detecting you. But Oblivion's is honestly ridiculous compared to this.

Why do I have a 100+ sneak skill (150 with Raiment of the Crimson Scar and Gray Cowl) and NPCs are still detecting me if they so much as glance in my direction?? I know Oblivion's sneak system has always been more realistic compared to Skyrim but it's a fantasy game. Shouldn't a literal master of sneak be a little bit better at sneaking? The only way to effectively sneak is if enemies are completely turned away from you, or if you have Chameleon, which really shouldn't be necessary in my opinion.

This applies to pickpocketing as well. At 100+ sneak I should be able to pickpocket almost any item from any sleeping NPC, minus super expensive or heavy items. Hell I should almost be able to pickpocket an item from ANY NPC, let alone sleeping ones. People just detect you way too easily, it almost seems like the sneak skill doesn't really matter.

If anybody can do anything about this, that would be greatly appreciated. I am really hoping for a complete stealth overhaul mod, not just lowering the detection distance and what not, but I understand that that might not happen for a long time, if at all. I'm just hoping people agree with me on this.

I also want to say that I'm not just some newgen who wants everything to be like Skyrim cuz I think it's the best. I've played Oblivion Classic and this has always bugged me.

Thanks for reading.
