With the way leveling works in Oblivion, each time you increase a skill by a level you get XP, which contributes to leveling up. There are a finite number of skills, and each maxes out at 100, so once all skills are at 100 you cannot level up your character any more. Based on what I have seen elsewhere there is not a hard cap on leveling, and apparently you can use console commands to reduce the level of a skill and gain more XP as you re-level it, so you can clearly go past this soft cap.

What I would like is a mod that simply allows skills to continue increasing past 100 and contributing XP to your character. Leveling a skill past 100 doesn't need to have any other effect. I'm not opinionated about how the scaling should work past 100, but my instinct is that keeping the scaling of both how hard it is to level the skill and how much XP a level contributes flat past 100 makes the most sense. That is to say leveling a skill from, say, 149 to 150 is as difficult as leveling it from 99 to 100, and awards the same amount of XP.

As someone who plays these types of games into the ground, I find it really annoying when I hit a level cap 1/3 of the way through what I intend to play of the game.

As an aside, I'm a professional software engineer so if someone can point me towards where skill progression is handled and some information about how you develop mods for this game, there's a pretty good chance I could figure out how to do this myself.

ive been wanting this mod for over 20 years, loved going past the level caps in morrowind. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Tribunal:Gaenor Gaenor had 150 strength and 700 luck, was a brutal fight even on super easy.

200+ in any skill/stat would be absolutely amazing.

right now im 18 levels into remastered and i eve already maxed out alchmey, strength and endurance, with speed and wisdom not far off.  ive barely started playing the game, im a potion merchant. without being able to get a few hundred levels in core skills the progression is over before the game starts. super looking forward to installing this mod when it exists.

this might help get you started
