First please make it more obvious that you can change these settings in the first place.

I was about to complain that you couldn't change them and that searching for newest is basically never what I want when searching for mods, until I noticed that here is a very small Customize your search preferences option on the very bottom. Please make it bigger, more obvious and maybe even move it up to be above the results.

Secondly, the base setting with date uploaded is stupid, at least for the games I mod (BGS Games, Subnautica) I basically never want the most recent mod with that name, but instead the most endorsed or most downloaded. Please make that normal option.

There is a bug about the default mod sorting.

In the settings, we can adjust the default mod sorting so it is always sorting in the way we want. For instance, I put "Last Updated".

However, when I search a mod, it doesn't sort as "Last Updated" but rather the default of the default sorting "Endorsement":

Will you please fix it?

Additionally, I would like to bring once again, the idea that the default mod sorting is no longer "Endorsement", but rather by "Last Updated", so everyone will get recent and more trendy mods, rather than old, outdated, or overrated mods which are the flaws when looking to popularity.
This is needed when a game is constantly updated or the community brings new tools and better works than those populars mods.

Notice how the "default quick search" option has "search" written above it while the "default mod sorting" has "browse" written above it?

Default mod sorting option only applies to browsing mods in categories and such, it doesn't apply to your search results.

Which is a bother. It was better when the Quick Search use the chosen default sorting. That was a relieve I didn't have to prompt "Enter" when I'm looking to specific recent mod.

The quick search has changed back to always sort by endorsements (which is how the old version worked). It was causing a lot of confusion/complaints in having it tied to a setting. You can always re-order your results after pressing Enter.

In future, we'll be experimenting with other search result orders (e.g. relevance), rather than endorsements.

Seriously! I fight for so long to remove that "Endorsement" default order because it mislead people of looking to mods, and they complaint because the quick search doesn't show the "popular" mods first?
This is what bothers me the most, because when looking to popular mods, they are seeing old/outdated/overrated mods. I want to see "up to date" mods first, the new tendency mods, and those working on the current game version. So that everyone won't have any problems because they failed to notice "hum... it's not working/best any more".
Youtube/Google correctly does that. When I prompt "Elder Scroll", I don't necessarily get "Skyrim", instead I got "Oblivion" as first result (because the remake is recent).

The current "default sort order" is still bugged. I changed the setting today, and it is still "Endorsement" when I press Enter.

And yes please! Put the "relevance", this is what Google does. I still prefer "Last Updated" but it is better than "Endorsement" at least.

A bump message just to remind once again that we need the setting of sorting order being fixed.

And so it works for the quick search too.

Or the "default" of the default sort order is not longer "endorsement".

It's been a month, and I still have people having trouble modding the game, because they all take "popular" mods by accident without knowing the risk.
And I waste minutes to change "Endorsement" to "Last Updated", or to enter the search rather than using the Quick Search, because as mod creator, I need to look of the most recent mods.

This is very important. It will save times for everyone by looking to recent mods that work to the current game version.

The main site search will always sort by Endorsements now (as it always did before we changed it) - users can re-order their results on the search results page, though.

Then please fix that setting so the sort order always applies to both Quick Search, and normal Search.
For once good thing the new Nexus UI brings, was that, and I want it back. I'm sick helping people with their trouble, all because they take "Endorsement" mods without knowing the risk they are old/outdated/overrated.

Every time I search something; it is always the "Endorsement" order. I already explain why this is a bother for everyone.
That way, I could say "change your Nexus setting to "Last Updated" order", so everyone who mod recent game or use the recent game version, will have recent mods working to the current game version.
