Adding TLOU2 gameplay to TLOU1

Hi all, 

Now that both games are on PC, I've been wondering whether it will become possible to add TLOU2's gameplay into the first game.

The remake was a perfect chance to do this... however, things didn't exactly end up this way and the remake only has some very small elements from Part 2's gameplay. While the first game's gameplay is fine when you consider that it was conceived to be able to run on the PS3 back in 2013, the remake released at full-price in around 2022/2023. It's extremely disappointing that the gameplay was not overhauled to be put on the same level as the sequel, especially when that game improved so much on the gameplay formula.

While I don't know much about modding itself, I do know enough to admit that this likely won't be an easy task. I don't know whether it'll be easier to try to add these mechanics into TLOU1 itself, or whether it's more efficient to perhaps try to port the level data over to TLOU2 which already has those gameplay mechanics in place. In fact, I don't even know if any of this is possible at all, but I figured it'd be worthwhile to ask, because if anyone can do this, I know it's all of the amazing modders out there. 

The story of the first game is already perfect, so it's really only the gameplay holding it back at this stage. I feel that the dodge would be the easier mechanic to add by default, though it would require giving the enemies their melee attacks from Part 2. Meanwhile, the prone would maybe require some tweaks to the level design, such as adding longer grass in areas to take advantage of it. However, even if we disregard those possible layout alterations for now, it'll just be so cool to see these modern gameplay mechanics working in the first TLOU game. 

Thank you for reading this post and if anyone knows if it would be possible to do, or has the skill to be able to do it, I'd love to know. I, myself, don't know how to mod at all, but I would happily follow the process of someone who does know how to. I think that this would make the remake pretty much perfect, as the visuals are already fantastic, the sound design is great, and, of course, the story is immaculate. Getting to play through TLOU1 with TLOU2's gameplay would be absolutely incredible. 

(P.S., I don't really buy the reasoning ND had that Joel wouldn't  dodge, personally...)
