Does Vortex install things without my knowledge and approval?

MY HD crashed a while ago and I was hesitant to redo my Skyrim VR, but I finally am getting to it.

I opened vortex and there is so much stuff already in it, that I am lost what I need, what I don't need and on top of that I find things, that I simply never had that are on my HD, that I know I wouldn't have downloaded. None of the games I show in the screenshots, I own. So why is there Baldurs 3 folder for example? Why am I deleting Starbound orStardew Valley or SPyro, etc from downloads? I never had any of those games.

All of this is just polluting my view, because it's mixed up with games I actually have, but some I don't believe I ever downloaded like No Man's Sky.

I want clean interface so I am not confused what I have downloaded or not. I find it bizarre!

Those are built-in plugins that come with Vortex. Ignore them. They don't do anything unless you start managing those games in Vortex.

You are digging around in the AppData folder and Extensions list to find them. You don't even see them during normal use.

Are they taking up my space? There is Baldursgate3 folder clearly on my hard drive. I've never played that game in my life nor am I even remotely interested in it. And a lot of names are repeating themselves in the downloads section of the Vortex. Are they on my HD or not? It says "Install" so clearly is expecting some sort of input from me. It's very confusing

Thanks. Did it explain what is going on? Yes.

However it doesn't explain whether I am still supposed to interact with those files that are for my games and have the option to install. Do I actually install anything or is it something automatic? I hate the mess that it brings with it. I hate the need to be scrolling through it and see some of my old downloads of Skyrim mods, mixed with multiple entries of games I don't even own. The more entries is there, the easier it is to overlook something or install something accidentally.

After my HDD crashed I just wish I could start from 0 and because there is so many residual files I am afraid to screw up something or leave bloat on the HD, that I don't need. The UI looks clunky and bloated to me now.
