Lollia Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) I decided to merge two of my enemy dialogue mods together (GWTG > DM), but even though everything looks good in the FO3Edit program, the GECK says that there are now multiple Duplicate Form IDs, and won't show the dialogue lines from the mod (GWTG) that was merged into the new one (DM). The process I followed was this: Load both mods into the GECK, activate the one that will accept the merge and load it last, then give new IDs to (and re-save) all the quest, voice type, and dialogue data from the first mod so that it becomes a new entry in the second mod. Is there a way I can make the merge work? I really dread having to re-create everything from scratch. Edit: Apologies to the moderators! I meant for this to go into the GECK section. ------------------------ Edit 2: I have found the duplicates! They are indeed listed in FO3Edit, but since it didn't make a fuss about them, they were not highlighted or otherwise particularly noticeable. FO3Edit allows me to give the conflicting dialogue responses their own Form IDs, but I have no idea what to type. The current ones are comprised of numbers and letters. How is one to know what is an acceptable replacement? ------------------------ Edit 3: Opted to redo the process and make the first mod (GWTG) a master file, albeit temporarily. Copied everything over as new records into the newer mod (DM). The problem is, the dialogue responses copied themselves back into GWTG, DESPITE the selection of DM on the choice screen. So now GWTG has had its dialogue responses duplicated and DM has nothing to show for it. There HAS to be an easier way to rescue dialogue responses while keeping them attached to their own quest data. ------------------------ Final Edit: No wonder the amount of new mods for Fallout 3 pales in comparison to Fallout 4 or New Vegas; not because modding it is difficult, but because there is no sense of community. Pagafyr Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Did you play the game and make a Save or Two while doing it with the mods installed? I've done that myself and had to uninstall my game, reinstall it, and then add the fixed mods. I'm not bald, because I was waving my fists at the keyboard struggling to reason with getting through the game where I had gotten to. If you have a Save before you installed the mods, uninstall the mods again, and play from that Save without them installed. Install the Fixed Mods and Play it again.
