Hi everyone, this is my first post here, (my english sucks so im using google translate)

Well, I've had a problem for a few days now. I'm using Minutemen Castle as a settlement. I've repaired the walls by placing huge concrete blocks, put up defenses, and even put up fences on the walls so the guards don't fall out of the castle. I also blocked the entrance gate. Ok, then I used the ambush kit, and HERE comes the problem. During the battle, settlers clip through the walls and exit the castle to fight, getting crushed by the super mutants each time. The castle is completely closed. like i'm shooting from the tower and randomly seeing some of my settlers and dogs fighting face to face with enemies in the distance.

My question is, is there any mod or building method that solves this?

Yes there is a mod that partially addresses this.

but only partially.

Since the game does not have a climbing animation, it grants NPCs the power to (after some time elapsed) to appear on the other side of a wall, as if they had climbed.

What I do I use all my resources to equip my guards well, but dont bother with the non guard settlers, such as farmgirls, the doctor etc.

Then I use a mod called coward settlers.

This allows me to put a "safe zone" mat at a spot in the settlement where all settlers that are not actually guards will flee to.

I cannot currently find it on nexus even though it was a recent download

A solution that is the polar opposite of what you'd expect a settler to do - especially considering EVERY settlement want YOU to fight their battles for them.

Well that seems pretty useful for this specific case, thanks!

I like that they defend the settlement from normal attacks, they can handle it, but in long battles like the ones with the ambush kit, a lot of things can go VERY wrong, like them dying or shooting each other by accident and starting an endless confrontation between settlers lmao

Isn't that what you want though?   If every battle ends the same way, what is the point of the battle?

I got your point, the first scenario (them dying) is bad but acceptable at the end of the day

but the second one definitely not, it shouldn't even happen

I'd suggest you watch the final scene of The Call Me Trinity.

Yeah, it's a Spaghetti Western from the '60's and is made for comedy but even people trained in combat do some strange things.

Like Trinity punch his brother "Bambino" late in the battle.    The absolute LAST person you'd want to punch.

They are the ones that orchestrated the Mormons defend themselves in the first place (well, Trinity anyway).  😄
