kplusa Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Context: Both mods are player home/settlement mods. I am playing on Old Gen.
showler Posted May 27 Posted May 27 They're both by the same author, so either they completely conflict and a merged script will be needed...or they are identical and it doesn't matter which one wins the conflict. I don't think the author's around anymore, but you could ask about the conflict on the mod comments page and see if anyone else has tried it. Or just try it yourself. 1
fraquar Posted May 28 Posted May 28 There are mods that incorporate 3rd party scripts with their mods. It is the way the mod (the 3rd party mod) is intended. Mod authors just include the file with their mod - then set up the settings in their mod. You just have to know what those mods are. ------ The alternative takes some work and IMO isn't worth the hassle. 1) That entails unpacking every Main.BA2 that has those files and removing them all. 2) You put that file as a loose file at the very end of your load order. Even then though as soon as you add another mod of that type it will likely have that file included and you will be back to square one again. 1
kplusa Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 @showler Thanks! How can I please try it by myself? @fraquar How can I found out which mods are those? Thank you.
showler Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Sadly, it means picking one and then proceeding to the location and making sure everything is working. If it isn't, switch to the other one and check the results. Though I think it will likely be okay. 1
kplusa Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 (edited) I see, thanks! During this process, do I enable them both together? Also, would you happen to know what these scripts/files do exactly? I just know they're conflicting but not how they affect the game. Edited May 30 by kplusa
showler Posted May 30 Posted May 30 You can't enable the files together. You need to enable both mods, but Vortex will choose one version of the file to install. I suspect it's just a script to enable you to turn on and off the lights in the two player homes. Since the script probably makes unique aliases for each the same script can be used for both of them. But I'm no expert I'm just going on past experience. 1
kplusa Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 Thank you for explaining! I will enable them both and inspect the locations in one playthrough.
