How to disable archive checking

checking archives seems to happen after every other change I make in Vortex.  I'd like to be able to disable archive checking.  I checked the extensions tab, no check archives extension.  I looked through the settings tab several times, no luck.  Any help?

Game? Vortex version? 

My guess is you are referring to the gamebryo archive management for .bsa files?

Skyrim SE/AE, version 1.6.1170

and yes, probably the gamebryo archive mgmt.

Archive check was bundled few years back to avoid users attempting to load BSA intended for different games. Disabling won't do much for deployment process.

I don't seem to see the gamebryo options in the extensions list:

This check should have a near zero performance cost so I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to disable it. It just reads the first 8 bytes of the BSA or BA2 files in the game folder to check you've not done anything that will crash the game.

after the most recent update sorting takes forever, and on top of the it just keeps checking archives using almost 90% of the CPU
