Hello all,

I've run into instances recently where mods will require shatteredspace.esm, but it's not found in my files, nor can I see it in LOOT or Vortex Load Order.  I own the DLC (PC Gamepass via Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade) and I can play the DLC (I'm about to start the quest in NG+7).  Has anyone else run into this issue or is there a known fix?  When I Google the problem, I don't find anything for this specific issue, just when the .esm is missing for a save file, which I have not encounted.

Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Is the SS esm in your data folder where the game is installed??? Or maybe it's in the My Games\Data folder??? Not sure how gamepass does such things.

That's the thing, the .esm file is NOWHERE on the hard drive where I have the game installed.

That's interesting. FYI, I checked my game (which I purchased off Steam a couple of years ago), and it has the ShatteredSpace.esm in the D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data directory.

I wonder how your game has the DLC without the plugins for it.

Beth shuffled how mods work, and by default, they were wanting them installed to the "My Games\Starfield\Data" folder..... But, if they aren't in the install directory, and they aren't in my games, I have no clue where else to look.

*Nods* The only thing I can think of (since I don't use GamePass and don't know what's different with it) would be to right click the Starfield game in the Steam Library and select "browse local files."

From there I'd click in the search field of file manager (top right corner) and type: file:ShatteredSpace.esm

That would have Windows search all subdirectories for it. Perhaps SteamPass players have it somewhere other than the Data directory.

If that failed, I'd check the hidden Users\[user name]\AppData directory within the Local, LocalLow and Roaming directories to see if GamePass has a hidden Starfield directory with plugins in there.
