vortex will not save my manual path

i manage oblivion remastered with vortex and it immediately breaks. Wrong path, fixed it manually. opened back up to check game path, defaulted to the one it knows is improper. validated my files through steam and one was missing that had to be redownloaded. steam runs it fine. manage with vortex. missing files. any help getting some wind back in these sails would be much appreciated.XD
