Hello. I've been tryna troubleshoot but I'm getting impatient and just wanna play my unarmed save... I've found out that when I equip the Robes of the Way, from WotM Extended, it makes my character's body invisible.

Now normally, I'd attempt top fix it by batching the bodyslide files for the outfit with my bodyslide body preset... but the bodyslide files don't exist, and I'm not sure how to go about this. I assumed I could just learn how to make an outfit in Outfit Studio with an imported outfit... but again, I don't have the outfit to import. THe mod itself just includes a plugin, and a bsa file, and I'm not sure if there is even a way for me to get the robe information out of that.

If anybody can help me out, I'd be very appreciative. Thank you.

color me curious, I downloaded it just to check contents, and checked the original WotM, also... neither contain robe nifs... so I installed it to load up sseedit...

Robes of the Way is pointed to a vanilla ARMA record 0010cfe7, MonkRobesColorRedAA... WotME uses vanilla meshes, so your issue lies with the nif at clothes/monk/monkrobes_1.nif... all of the robes tie to vanilla meshes, nothing inherently wrong with the mod

Hmmmm.... curious indeed, I do have those batched to my current body preset, just checkeed my bodyslide output for 'em. Wondering why they're invisible in that case. I guess that's next on the list of things to figure out lmao

Any ideas? Maybe I need to re-batch? I did it two days ago though, so I am not sure why the robes are invisible

whether the bodyslid files are there or not, the vanilla mesh IS in place, so something should load... given it doesn't, it sounds like a redirect or mesh issue

you should SSEEdit your load order, and check the ARMA record I noted for overwrites... maybe another mod is redirecting that record somewhere else? or potentially a patch overwriting WotME ARMO and pointing it somewhere else... have you checked the nifs to verify they actually contain the meshes, any notable troubles from the bodyslide mod page? last thought, are you using any BOS mods or Skypatches that might redirect the vanilla assignment?

Checked the nif files for red monk robes in outfit studio, they are indeed there. Assuming BOS means Bodyslide Outfit Studio(?) the answer is yes, I've got an unholy amount of outfits, around 1200 pieces of armour/clothes batches to the body preset I made, one of them being a vanilla replacer - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/22168

If that one isn't the one that's replacing the monk robes, I'll have to look into which one is. But I'm quitre positive that that's the one. Here's a screencap of the robes in outfit studio too, attached.

Edit: Also, I've tried time and time again to understand what I'm looking at in SEEdit... but I can never figure it out, I barely know how to use the thing lmao. I loaded it up, checked out what you mentioned, and didn't know what else to do other than simple observation.

no more unholy than my outfit setup, though I went with BHUNP

sorry, BOS is short for Base Object Swapper, another mod/plugin that allows for object swapping through use of ini files, instead of changing game records... I think you can safely ignore it if you haven't consciously found and installed any...

based on vanilla records, that would be the wrong nif... that filename is monkrobes_red_f_1.nif, the file for vanilla records is clothes/monk/monkrobes_f_1.nif... looking at the bodyslide mod page, it's possible you generated the standalone version of the meshes, instead of the replacement... or, that mod also includes plugins that may be altering your pathing

So I definitely have the correct file, in the same folder as the other monk robe nif I mentioned, within the pathway that has other clothes visible when I wear them, so I'm a tad lost... yet again lmao

Anything else that might be the issue, unless the pathway is the issue? But That doesn't make sense to me, the pathway being the problem I mean. 'Cause the clothes are visible on npcs, haven't personally tested them all out on myself, but the armours for the same replacer mod all work, too. I've definitely used enough of them to verify that.

Edit: Actually, let me open the regular robes in outfit studio to make sure they're not invisible, as I've not done that yet, just the red ones. - Yeah, they're not invisble either. They're definitely present.

just to verify... NPCs can wear Robes of the Way, and other known sets... no missing bodies?

PC cannot wear just Robes of the Way? or other sets also?

SOME have missing bodies, but oddly enough all the npcs that spawn at the location where you can loot the RObes of the Way, all are wearing monk robes, and don't have invisible bodies.
I still haven't been able to figure out which outfits are making npcs invisible but I know at least one is making a 3dnpc invisible, the blacksmith's apprentice in Falkreath, and I've only got to assume she's wearing female blacksmith's outfit, or something.
I've not been too adamant to find out which outfits are invisible, as it doesnt crash my game or anything, but it's JUST female npcs I've noticed. However, this Robes of the Way thing bothered me enough to make a post about it. Worth noting its an average of one npc, maybe two per major city or hold or whatever, that has an invisible body. So it's got to be something rather specific, I'd thing... but that's besides the point and problem I'm having that actually bothers me enough to fix it, as I've mentioned the Robes of the Way has had me.

By the way, I really would like to thank you for the help you're providing. People like yourself are the reason I keep coming back to these forums when I've got problems, cause I know with just a bit of patience, somebody with the right mind for my problems will come through, and here you are! So again, thank you for all this effort. Hoping we can figure it out sooner than later, as I'd really not like to take up much more of your time lol
