followers not appearing

hi all,

I'm running AE with mod manager reporting no conflicts. a few of my followers have appeared, but many are not in the locations they're supposed to be. I added mid game a few, but they didn't appear so i started a fresh game with no luck aside from luna, vivace, and that danarial storm-whatever. Kinda at a loss, so any advice would be appreciated. All were applied thru vortex mm
