Grid Help

I once ran into a similar problem.

My solution was either closing GECK and re-running the whole thing again or revert to an earlier file.

Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm thinking your problem is more likely a one-time glitch.

eyah the grid can be a problem

You can have problems because some things get put on a 1.2343 3.4323 4.3234

Which might snap to grid at different spots than other items set at 1.0000 3.0000 4.0000

Usually You do the floor first right

So I'll put one piece in then double click it an either put them all to zero

or put them all to 16, keeping it on a 16 grid from there

using a 16 grid is great, things line up because there is more adjustablity

but then the 32 grid or 64 grid or 128 grid moves faster making it be built faster

Also a lot of the time I put snap to grid on and set it to 1 in order to keep things

from having a fractions like the 1.2342 4.3423 5.3432

So long as it's zeroed out by double clicking then putting it to 1.0000 4.0000 5.0000

then when you turn on snap to grid at 1 then it will only move by 1 incriments

This is just items for the most part

the doors an floors, ceiling, and other stuff like this we use the 16, 32, 64 grid

To tell the truth I've ran into so many problems with the 32 an 64 grids I pretty much

use 16 the whole time.

Also a lot of the times, you've duplicated a cell, and the first piece you put in after deleting it

or trying to use some of the stuff from that duplicated cell is on something like

7234.3421 5453.4532 7342.3421 Or even 7432.0000 3423.0000 5463.0000

You may want to move the first piece by double clicking it an typing in 0 0 0

or 16 16 16

The only way to figure out if the piece you have is on the 16 grid would be devide

7234 by 16 as well as the other numbers, which is a large waste of time

when you could either use a base number as a starting point like 16 16 16

Or 4800 4800 4800 which is 16 times 300

Frustrating huh, just keep working with it an you'll figure out how you like doing things.

You'll also want to turn the grid off for some things like a rug or whatnot

or a painting that hangs on the wall, but the 1 grid works for some of this stuff
