Stampede
I used to wonder about this a lot, but it only occured to me again yesterday when I was busy purging a daedric temple. There are scrolls of "cure paralysis" and also magical apparel with "cure paralysis" spells. However, when I get paralysed...I cannot cast a spell from a scroll...nor from a magical item. Yet, I can (somehow) drink a "cure paralysis" potion. Oh the irony.

nickleback04
i hate paralysis in the first place, but i had never noticed that you cannot use a scroll or item, before you said. now, i have tried it out on my PC and you are right (not that i doubted you in the first place). it is very strange, as you would have to at least go to your pocket and bring the bootle up to your mouth, therefore breaking the paralysis spell before drinking. ah, the joys of working out whatever happened to the logic in Morrowind... Abramul
An explanation I've read is that the potions are so powerful that the mere possession of one is enough to give you the ability to drink it.
nickleback04
ok, so basicly the potion is so strong it knows when you need to drink it> sounds either great, or extremely suspect. i would have thought that maybe, if there is a plausible reason, that you dont actually have to drink it, and all you have to do is keep it near you, then there would be problems in that if yo carry more than one, then they may all give you their power or whatever all at the same time, meaning you lose all of you potions
Stampede
Maybe there is a certain effect JUST for Paralysis potions, where you can will it through the pores of your skin. Like when you put a potato in a glass of water or something. Osmosis.
RuaDragonheart
It's all a lie, paralysis is just a figment of your imagination! About the "cure paralysis" effect, if you're like me and like to make your own stuff in the editor and then place it somewhere that makes it EXTREMELY annoying to get (IE Dagoth Ur's pocket), I put the "cure paralysis" as a constant effect. And I don't think I've ever come across a scroll of cure paralysis...
