gnrbrown
Okay, so first time modding this series (oblivion/fallout). I have a hk416 weapon modeled, mapped and textured, that I have created in Maya for another game. How would I go about bringing that into this game world? More directly, this mod: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6667 has essentially the stats and sounds and effects. I'm trying to use my own model and textures in place of theirs. Links would be great but any direction is welcome. ie what file conversion is necessary (maya->blender) and the process of ACTUALLY taking the model and bringing it into geck. I cant find any tutorial information that actually deals with bringing in custom 3d models (specifically weapons, but Ive looked for enviroment too) into geck. neunen
as for the maya to blender, im not totally sure, but you could export it as an .obj or .3ds probably take a look at the link in my signature under tutorials for creating a custom weapon hope that helps
1337Yiff
Simple solution really, the method of it is to export your model as a .nif, and copy and paste over your model over default game models, such as the chinese assault rifle model. I do this with Max and Nifskope. I suggest exporting your model in 3ds max, with the .nif plugin. Once you have the model open in Nifskope, copy the NiTriStrips data and paste it over the default ones, add your own texture via the Geck, and you are good to go.
