Body Issue

HAKUIZM

Recommended Posts

I don't know how long I've had this problem, because I've just noticed it right now, but my character's hands and feet are detached from the arms and legs slightly. It's sort of hard to explain so here's a pic of what I mean ([pic 1] || [pic 2] || [pic 3]). I turned off hgec bodies and they still had the problem, so I was just wondering if anyone know what the cause of it might be?

I don't really pay attention to loading order or anything like that (nor do I even know the next thing about how it should be), so if my loading order makes you go 'omg wtf?! no wonder!', sorry D=

You could go and download BOSS. It is the easiest way for someone who doesn't have a clue about load order to fix it. Give it a try and tell us what happens. If some mods aren't sorted, BOSS is updated every so often (between 2 weeks and every month).

I assume that the screens show your character without any clothes on? If yes, you should remember that body mods are replacers, so to turn them off, you have to remove the meshes and textures added by the body mods from your Data folder. The problem may fix itself if you reinstall hgec (or whatever female replacer you use). If no, it may simply be that you wear clothes not fitted to your body.

Do you use a custom race? If yes, that custom race may use custom meshes, that may or may not be compatible with the body mod you have installed.

You should also use a conflict detector, such as Tes4View, to see if any of your installed mods change the mesh paths in the Race entries.

Finally, I don't see your bashed patch. I'm pretty sure that Ren's Beauty Pack Full additions gets overwritten by Male Body Replacer V4.

you probably installed too many body mods, you probably have the hands and feet of one body mod and the upper and lower body of another mod. Install HGEC to see if it helps, if thats not the case, your race (what ever it is you're using) are loading an incompatible set of mesh (eg. loading hgec for body and some other mod for hands and feet) if thats the case, you have to go into the construction set and manually change them back, or you could just reinstall the mod that gives you the race.

General Load-Order Guidelines

Here are the guidelines that I adhere to, personally.

~ Unofficial Oblivon Patch should always be first on the list. The fixes are great, but most aren't essential, so if a mod overwrites them its not a big deal, and the fixes have the potential for screwing up other mods if loaded later.

~ Offical Content (DLC's) should be loaded last, until you complete all quests associated with them (that includes buying all furniture for the houses and whatnot). Once they're complete, they can be safely moved up in the list. This is especially important for Knights of the Nine, which will have some fairly major problems unless loaded last (unless you get the UOP for KotN)

~ Major overhaul mods (OOO, Frans, MMM) should be loaded near the end. That gives you the most complete experience with any of those particular mods. It also lets you carefully choose which other mods to load afterwards... only move mods that you know will conflict and that you want the changes from. For example, I have Improved Soul Gems below OOO because I know that OOO changes the icons of some of the SG's, and ISG needs to be below to show through.

Some people will recommend putting larger mods first, but personally I disagree. There are a number of mods out there that make minor tweaks, and loading after a large mod will end up completely overwriting a chunk from one of the bigger mods because of the way conflicts work in Oblivion (even one minor change will take precedence over the entire record... for example, simply tweaking the speed of a weapon can cause every stat of that weapon to be retained to vanilla levels if loaded later).

So basically, it stacks up like this...

Oblivion.esm

Unofficial Oblivion Patch

<Minor Mods / DLC's (Post-Completion)>

<Major Overhaul Mod/Mods>

<Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence>

<DLC's (Pre-Completion)>

Note: If using Mayu's Overhaul Mod. I recommend loading it after OOO or MMM

Expanded Load-Order Guidelines

by dev_akm

I would extend this to include:

Oblivion.esm

Unofficial Oblivion Patch

<Weather/Environment/Sound Mods>

<Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)>

<Major Overhaul Mods>

<Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence>

<DLC's (Pre-Completion)>

<Quests>

<Compatibility Patches/UOMP/Merged Leveled Lists>

And a special-case warning for Knights.esp (Knights of the Nine) -- you may not be able to move it earlier than some other mods (some people have had problems after moving it before OOO, for example).

That's basically the structure I use and I have 140+ mods working well together.

Another way of describing this (posted by DMan77):

....

Oblivion

unoffical patch

Deeper realism mods that add sights and sounds

added content like weapons/items

gameplay changes, like 'must eat and sleep'

The OOO type

the 'new begining' type mod..

I had the same problem before and it made me crazy unchecking each mod individually, trying to figure out which one it was but none of them seemed to make it go away when I unchecked them.

I decided I'd learn to live with it and began to play. In the process, I took off the Hunter's pants and the crack at her waist suddenly disappeared and it was all smooth again.

Before making yourself crazy with the mods, first try redressing or undressing her.
