Pacifist thaneship quests?

If you want to roleplay a pacifist in this game, you're pretty much screwed. Gopher's LP with Richard perfectly exemplified this. In his early episodes, he ridiculed every NPC in the game for thinking he was an adventurer, and not letting him play as a pacifist.

Sure, there are ways to make money that don't involve combat, but no way to own property. Every hold in the game, before you can purchase property in the city, requires you to undergo some combat-related task. Delve into a draugr ruin; go find the Helmet/Shield of the hold; clear out a cave of necromancers trying to resurrect an evil Septim. You get the idea. Even if you conquer the hold and can bypass those quests normally, that's still combat.

Sure, the Falkreath thaneship is relatively easy, since it's just some Bandits. But that's beside the point: Just because you can handle it doesn't mean the character you're roleplaying as can!

Perhaps you could hire a heirling to help you through Bleak Falls Barrow, but why should I have to do that? Tip-toe around the game mechanics just to be able to play the playstyle I want?

It doesn't make any sense in the first place; just because you're an adventurer doesn't mean you're a fighter. "Adventure" just means an exciting and unusual experience; you can talk you're way through problems, and it still technically count as "adventuring."

Can somebody please make a mod that lets all eight holds that have property available for purchase (including the Hearthfire additions) have alternate means of obtaining the Jarl's favor that do not in any way involve combat?

For example, in Morthal, when you've found the culprit behind the house fire, and the Jarl asks you to go to Movarth's Lair to finish the job, you can decline if you so choose, and the Jarl will still give you the thane quest, but a less gold as a reward.

In Solitude, you can sneak inside the cave, figure out what's happening, and sneak back out and warn Falk. This would cut you off from "The Wolf Queen Awakened," but that should be the player's choice.

In Riften, when asked to clear out the Skooma den, you can instead pay 500 gold to cover the cost of hiring and under-the-table mercenary. You will be given the right to purchase property and subsequently offered thaneship anyway.

And in Windhelm, you can assist the Stormcloak rebellion in an auxillery manner... somehow... haven't figured that out yet.

Any takers?
