Wrye Bash not wanting to read from its own folder

As of October of last year I finally got a gaming rig capable of handling Skyrim. The level of excitement has been through the roof...until I tried to use mods. I am a mod wh*%#, no doubt, and I plan on exceeding the game's and NMM's 255 mod limit. The answer was Wrye Bash. I have followed tutorial after tutorial, read countless forum posts, and tried endless step-by-step websites. I can't get anything to work at all. Wrye Bash doesn't even recgnize that there are any mods in it's folder. Can someone please help me figure out what is going on? I am so frustrated and disappointed that I want to cry.

Wrye Bash is not supposed to read it's own installation folder for mods. It's suppose to poll the default game data folder, which is where mods are supposed to be installed to. Also....

1) NMM does not have a 'mod limit.' However, the game engine will not load more than 255 plugins (this limit would include the default game and official patch esm's, as well as DLCs), regardless of which mod manager you use (and keeping in mind that some mods can come with multiple plugins).

2) Have you modded any Bethesda games before (e.g. Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3/New Vegas)? If the answer is 'no', then I will wager that installing a ton of mod your first time out will guarantee disaster. It will almost certainly ensure your game will be very unstable and virtually unplayable. Instead, I recommend you start with a very modest list of mods (say 10-20), then grow that list very gradually and carefully, until you hit a point where you can ascertain that the game engine and/or your rig can take no more.

3) Download BOSS and TES5Edit. You will need them eventually.
