apprendista
Solved: The documentation on the forums and the tesnexus webpage for the compatibility patch are horrible. But the new readme file clarified things once you decrypted what the author was trying to say.Qarl's Texture Pack 3 incorporated the mesh corrections made in the Unofficial Oblivion Patch 2.0 wherever QTP3 needed to change parallax settings, but this compatibility between the two mods was lost with the release of UOP 2.1 and again with many new mesh changes in UOP 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2.This doesn't mean that QTP3 fixes the meshes forever, because the UOP 2.1 and higher changed the meshes again and QTP3 was not updated to work with the new changes. This actually works hand in hand with the UOP+QTP3 to solve that problem of QTP3 now being the one out of date, instead of UOP. While this may be obvious to others, I know that some have interpreted it to mean that they only have to install the compatibility patch IF they install UOP after QTP3. That's half-correct. What should be more clear is that by know, with so many UOP upgrades, QTP3 is outdated and needs the compatibility. --------- Origonal Post: Again, with what may seem like a newish question, even after searching the documentation from top to bottom: If I install the game, then the official patch, then the unofficial patch (latest), and THEN QTP3, do I really need to install the compatibility patch for the unofficial patch+QTP3? According to the documentation, it seems to only be required if you install a new unofficial patch after installing QTP3. What confuses me, is that many on the forums seem to install it after QTP3 regardless. My issue with that is the actual files from the compatibility patch are much smaller than the official QTP3. Any help clarifying? Do I need the compatibility patch if I install it before QTP3 on a fresh installation?
