Seeing light/torches from further away ?

Hi

When walking in dungeons, and you see a fire from far away, you don't see the light it casts on the walls and creatures around it... When coming closing, it's likes the fire "turns on" and then it does cast the light on the objects.

I tried to fix it by playing with the Video options, but that doesn't seem to work :S (or maybe there's something I haven't tried yet ? But I don't think so)

Also I've been looking for a mod that fixes this, but I can't find one :S

So maybe someone here can make one ?

I added a vid of what I mean, so you can see it, it really annoys me (sometimes you can't see enemies from far away, 'cause they are in the dark, even though they are just standing next to a fire...). Tried uploading on youtube, but it wont... So I'll just give the avi file, it's kunde large though (60MB+) since it's made with fraps, and fraps doesn't reduce the size... Video (63MB)

Thanks for your understanding

Also a picture, yet the video explains better ;) http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/2684/oblivionlight.jpg

And I hope someone can make me happy by modding this thingy :D

Thanks !!!

i think you can mod the oblivion ini to do this. the frostcrag reborn mod has instruction on how but

basicly just find and change these values to whati've posted here

fLightLOD2=7000.0000

fLightLOD1=1000.0000

fSpecularLOD2=7300.0000

fSpecularLOD1=7000.0000

these are the values you want.

the default is much lower than this.

NOTE: this may impact your FPS. it shouldn't do too much.
