Kanryue
I've tried everything. I've gotten texture replacements to work before, but body mods and magnum mods just seem to not work. I had to screw around a lot to get the deathclaw gauntlet retex to work but if I try the same thing with magnum and body it just doesnt work. Normally I use FOMM to autoinstall all my mods but it doesnt seem to work for simple retex's. Anything without an .esp doesnt seem to work through it for me, which is weird because on a previous install all my retex mods worked fine. The only things I can think of, are the fact that I installed it in program files and vista's UAC is screwing with it or something. Or that previous mods I installed screwed up the files for magnum and body mods. I installed a Fallout 1/2 weapons mod that changed my magnum to an unscoped and I wanted a scoped, so I uninstalled it, yet my magnum was still changed. I downloaded a magnum retex that has a scope and it doesnt seem to change it at all. I got the Deathclaw gauntlet retex to work by manually installing it but that doesnt work with the others. I have the ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated program already, and I had to edit the ArchiveInvalidation text for the gauntlet to work, but doing the same for the magunm and body mods don't work even though that's what it says t do in it's install instructiuons. I'm out of ideas. Help PLOX!
katsu4649
Make sure that you have 'Archiveinvalidation Invalidated!' installed correctly (Make sure that it put a .bsa in the data folder, and that your Fallout.ini located within your Documents\My Games\Fallout\ folder has bInvalidateOlderFiles=1, not =0).Having it in programfiles is not good, for modding that is. Notice that whenever you add a file to your data directory (Or any for that matter) it will pop up a UAC, asking if its ok to continue. In FOMM, when you install a mod, it is doing exactly that - adding files to the data directory. If no UAC pops up, then the files were automatically rejected by Vista (This used to happen to me a lot with using 7-Zip, it would silently reject the files, so i had to drag and drop them from the window). If you must use FOMM to install the mods, then the only thing I could suggest (And I hate to have to say this) would be to reinstall in your C:\ directory. That way you will not get any UAC issues. But a quick way to test this would be to manually install it, accept the UAC and see if it works now. If so, re-installing or manual installation would be your two choices (That I can think of, unless running FOMM as admin would work). Another thing i just noticed would be to make sure that your folder structures are correct:data\meshes\weapons\1handpistol\..data\textures\weapons\1handpistol\..etc. since sometimes FOMM will install it incorrectly by putting:data\textures\weapons\textures\weapons\1handpistol\..If that wasn't the case, I'm not entirely sure what the problem would be, but if you give me the link to your mod I can poke around to see what may cause the problem. I also noticed that you should have "SArchiveList=ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa.." after the bInvalidateOlderFiles, make sure achiveinvalidation is the first one in the series of .bsa files. Kanryue
Well with your help I got the Magnum retex to work. The problem apparently was that when FOMM installed the mod, it put a folder called Blackhawk into /data and it had the textures in it. The Blackhawk folder should have been texture so that it merged with the existing one, and when I manually installed it, the folders would merge but the files wouldn't move, but it wouldn't tell me that. I thought it had installed when really it hadn't done a thing. Although I thought this retex http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=492 would give me my scope back, but there's still no scope on it though the retex certainly worked. Anybody know a way to get my scope back? I'm so angry at http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2307 for unscoping my magnum!
katsu4649
I tried looking at the pictures shown there, but when it comes to scopes it would be the mesh that you need to change. If the mesh you are using doesn't have a scope on it, then the textures will not be able to be applied on it (Obviously). You could try to find the .nif of the gun that has the scope, and replace it with the one that you are currently using (The non-scoped one), and if your texture.dds has a part that texturizes (Sorry for all the fake words) the scope, it should work out. Otherwise, the scope will most likely just be black.
