Keanumoreira
It's the Red Year in Morrowind. The skies swell with smoke and the land is choked with ash. The Dunmer flee their ancestral homeland, just as Vivec did when he abandoned what was left of the Tribunal administration. Chaos and desolation settles across the land, ushering in a new age of darkness. The rumbles of Red Mountain shake the whole of Tamriel itself, and unbeknownst to the world, a great evil has awakened. One-hundred and seventy years come and go, and the effects of that terrible year can still be felt. Word has spread from the Imperial City of an expedition into Elsweyr, a land that has grown suspicious of the Empire in recent years, and has recently closed its borders to any outsiders. But that hasn't deterred the captain of the Madeira, nor his loyal guide, Keel'lye, his only eyes and ears in this mysterious land. Keel'lye has recommended to her captain that he hire adventurers for this quest, Elsweyr is a dangerous and foreboding place, even among the Khajiit. Sending the word throughout Tamriel, calling one and all, he invites any who dares to embark on this journey. Who will answer his call? Some notes before we begin: 1. I'm not strict when it comes to rps, but please follow the rp rules. That includes no godmodding, no fighting, and respect for other players. 2. When everyone's character sheets have been submitted, we will begin. You should include the basics, including their personality, areas of strength and weakness, as well as a bit of their background. 3. Have fun! Keanumoreira
Name: Count Llau'wai Race: Dumner Gender: Male Age: 27 Association: A count in service of House Redoran, and the captain of the Madeira Personality: Adventurous, ambitious, kindhearted, brave, noble; never backs down from a fight, a coin, or a beautiful woman. He is a confident leader who is well liked among his associates. Strengths: Handy with a sword and skilled with practical magic (restoration and alteration) Weaknesses: Quick to anger; desires sometimes clouds his judgement; weak against magic and heavy weapons Background: Born into the proletariat, Count Llau'wai wouldn't earn his distinctive title until later in his life. Much of his childhood consisted of roaming Morrowind for work as the ceaseless eruptions of Red Mountain continued to plague the land. Although his parents supported him for a time, they left him orphaned at a very young age. After many years of struggle and enduring hardship, and in a chance encounter that secured his future success, he saved a man from drowning in the sea just outside of Blacklight. That man was the head of House Redoran, the most powerful on the council. Out of gratitude, he was offered a political position, and quickly rose through the ranks as a shrewd, competent, and reliable figure of prominence and value. His efforts as the chief official of House Redoran's foreign and domestic policy were so outstanding, that he also serves as the House's chief adviser on all affairs. When not at war, he is allowed extended leave, that time, of which, he chooses to spend on treasure seeking. twentynine29
Name: Eldrin Race: Wood Elf Age: 25 Association: Has several ties in the criminal underworld as well as the Corbolo Cutthroats, an infamous mercenary association which he is a member of. Personality: Sly, clever, and nimble, but is also sometimes rude and obscene. He is easily provoked and will not hesitate to put an arrow into those who do. He has a neutral morality, but still takes enjoyment in certain troublesome deeds as well as respectable ones Strengths: Has extraordinary skill with a bow as well as having expertise with the sword. He is also experienced in stealth and other skills. Weaknesses: A magnet for trouble. Because of the sect he belongs to, he is often a wanted man. Background: Eldrin was born out of wedlock to a Bosmeri noble. In these parts of the world, particularly in Elven societies. bastard children are considered disgusting, and are treated no better than slaves. This was the kind of lifestyle Eldrin lived until his 10th birthday. When Eldrin turned 10, he ran away on a ship headed towards Bravil. Eldrin lived the next two years as a street urchin, stealing from the market and pickpocketing the citizens. At age 12, Eldrin was adopted by an Imperial man named Commodus. Commodus took notice in the boy's skill in thievery and other practical skills, and invited him to join his brother's mercenary company known as the Corbolo Cutthroats; a notorious group of mercenaries. Eldrin was trained in several skills in his new guild, like swordplay, stealth, and whatnot. He showed prodigious skill in archery, even surpassing the finest archers in the guild by the time he was 17. By then, he was a force to be reckoned with. Keanumoreira
(Alright everyone, I know we've had a bit of a delay. David is going to be busy for awhile, so we're just going to ahead and jump into this thing. David, I hope you'll be joining us soon. ) It was midday in the Imperial City and conditions on the Waterfront couldn't have been more ideal. The sun hung high above the White Gold Tower, great and radiant, without a cloud to be seen for miles around. Lake Rumare was calm and welcoming, waves lapping at the hull of the Madeira and a gentle breeze nudging against her sails. It was a fine and admirable vessel, which was more than just seaworthy. She had seen battle in distant lands, far from the shores of Tamriel, sailing towards the promise of gold and glory. Her proud and faithful captain, Count Llau'Wai, has been with the Madeira through thick and thin, and has seen just about everything that the world can offer. One would be amazed of the stories he could tell. That afternoon, the Waterfront was swarming with Imperial Guards who appeared to be in a great panic. Word had gotten around that something had happened in the palace early that morning. The Count couldn't think of what it could be. It had been months since the Thalmor were forced from the city and repairs had done much to reverse the damage. The emperor was alive and well, as far as he could tell, and there was no warning of foreign armies descending from afar. No fire. No plague. What could it be? Since the Dark Elf had yet to be approached, he shrugged it off and went about his business to prepare his ship for departure. Every now and then, he turned to greet the occasional citizen who happened by, believing that someone had finally arrived to sign up. After awhile, he grew discouraged, and sighed a deep breath of disappointment. "Fear not captain," Keel'lye assured, "I'm certain someone will show up." The Count didn't answer, but simply dismissed her with the rise of his hand. This Khajiit was new to the crew, but quickly proved her worth on the seas. Keel'lye had a talent for micro-detail and knew the land of Elsweyr very well, the next stop on their worldly expedition. Intelligent, capable, and fiercely loyal, her abilities would be invaluable for this perilous journey. But as her captain feared, it would be an impossible voyage for just the two of them. Were they to be successful, they would need more able-bodied, experienced men and women to accompany them. He cringed at the possibility of having to return to Morrowind this early in the campaign. twentynine29
Eldrin arrived at the Waterfront from a week's trip from Bravil, keeping a low profile. The guards around him were too panicked to notice him but better safe than sorry. Last week, he received a letter from his mentor, Commodus, telling him to find a Dark Elf captain at the Waterfront and join his party. The letter stated this would be his most important contract, so he assumed his client would be some really big cheese. If only the letter explained more. For now, he'll undergo the regular procedure. He meets the client, shields the coward from his own shadows, and gets his pay within 2 week's time. He continues walking past the anxious citizens, within a minute. He spots the ship described in the letter and sure enough, there was a well dressed Dark Elf, as well as a Khajiit woman as his assistant. "Good afternoon milord. I believe I am the mercenary you hired for your boat trip." He took a seat on the stairs leading to the stern deck without another word, awaiting further orders. Xion136
Violet had garnered some information from some bar-goers before sweeping out. Clad in a black travel cloak, she continued down the street, slipping through the crowds with practice ease. She was closer to the waterfront, and still mulling. So far, all she got was the guy waned to go to Elsweyr, and no one could give her a single explanation why besides "untold fortune" which was a really pathetic excuse.Violet finally managed to extricate herself from the throng of people and onto the waterfront itself. Browsing the ships, wondering if she might one day be able to manipulate a ship from it's captain (a thought she entertained out of fun) she found it.Come up the gangplank, she cleared her throat."This the Count's ship?" She asked, pulling her hood back. Her black locks now free, her hair was straight and almost shiny, and her eyes an almost unnatural green. A slight defect was in her eye, but the almost bird shaped mark only made her look more exotic. The Breton stood at ease, a slight smile upon her lips. She was interested in what the expedition had to offer, and so far was wondering what she could discover at their destination - hopefully enough to buy a cozy home and never have to worry about her usual means of money ever again. Glitchipedia
(Sorry I'm late, here's my signup) Name: Icira Witherflame Race: Breton Gender: Female Age: 35 Association: The Synod; College of Whispers (formerly) Personality: Caring and determined, usually willing to give others the benefit of the doubt. Will participate in battle if she can, but recognizes a hopeless fight when she sees one, and always tries to find a safe escape route for both herself and her allies. Strengths: Exceptionally strong in Illusion and Alteration magic (and a fair Restoration mage as well), and rather handy with blunt weaponry. Reasonably intelligent. Weaknesses: Unskilled in Destruction, Mysticism and Conjuration, requiring spell scrolls to wield them effectively. Clumsy with a sword or a bow. Cannot dual-wield. Background: Born in High Rock to Breton parents Silas Witherflame and Fiona Stofelus, Icira was inducted into the College of Whispers at a fairly young age. At the age of twenty, she was chosen by well-regarded Orsimer battlemage Kr'ohr gro-Lestim to serve as his personal adviser. Three years later, however, Icira bore witness to Kr'ohr's remorseless murder of his student Emma ra Teremolve. Disgusted, she abandoned him and the College of Whispers, using her last teleportation scroll to rescue Emma's brother, Willis, and taking him to the relative safety of Cyrodiil's Great Forest. Whilst there, Willis explained that he had discovered the source of Kr'ohr's immense magical power: the innocent souls he had devoured over the years. Furthermore, the Orc was planning to gather enough power to challenge even Daedric Princes. And so, for twelve long years, Willis and Icira—now married with two ten-year-old children, one their daughter by blood and the other an adopted Dunmer son—have raced across Tamriel in a desperate quest to find and kill Kr'ohr before he can achieve his ultimate goal of usurping Mehrunes Dagon. Allied now with the Synod, Icira's next destination is Elsweyr, to which she understands a Redoran is leading an expedition.... *~ T H E - E L D E R - S C R O L L S ~* Wearing a gray-blue robe that called to mind the Mages Guild of old, Icira stood on the Waterfront, the daylight reflecting off her bright ginger hair and pale skin. Her emerald eyes darted around the docks in search of the ship she had heard about. I hope I'm not too late, she thought to herself. At last, she spotted it. There could be no doubt that the majestic ship before her was the same that had been described to her by the mages at the University. As she approached, squeezing between the frenzied guards here and there, she could make out a Dunmer, a Khajiit, a Bosmer and a fellow Breton situated nearby. "Pardon me," she said as she came near. "I've heard tell of a Redoran assembling a crew for a journey to Elsweyr. Have I heard correctly?"
Macman253
Uhtred hated the Imperial City, he hated the scent of it, the stench. He hated watching the common people stamped on by the highborn. But he did not care enough to fight for them. The large Skaal looked at the help wanted poster as he walked through the city streets towards the waterfront, It was there that he spotted the ship that was hiring. Uhtred slid Gorefather up to shift the great-axe's weight as he walked towards the gathering group. "You the one's that put out the notice for hired help?" He said in a gruff tone.
