NPC keeps falling over after adding clothes from another mod

Greetings,

i'am currently working on a mod and therefore created a new race. NPC's of that race showing up at the CS and inGame and behave like they should. So far so good. Also, i've added some clothes for one of those NPC's from another mod. I changed the folders corresponding to my own mod setup, the mesh and texture paths at the CS and also within the nif file using NifSkope. Everything worked nicely and the clothes appear at the CS and at the game. But there is an extremely odd problem i've run into. If i equip my NPC with those clothes, it stops moving inGame, simply falls over and lays on the ground unable to move at all even while beeing attacked. Hopefully anyone of you has a clue what in **** name could cause this and give me a hint.

Many thx in advance,

Neferath

Hey, Neferath!

I have done exactly what you describe, thousands of times, and never happened to me such a weird thing.

Are you sure the clothes have no spells attached to them?

I'm afraid that, unless we don't know exactly each and every one of the steps you did to create the clothes, we can't start to figure out what is happening.

Looks like the clothes are paralyzing your NPC. Have you tried putting them on your player character?

Cheers!

Many thx for your reply IkeCoast,

the clothes aren't enchanted at all. What i did in particular was, to take the .nif files and the .dds files including the normal map files and copy them into my own folder structure. After that, i changed the texturepaths of the .nif files with NifSkope to the new texturepaths of my own folder structure. That done i added the clothes as new clothes to the CS. Blouse for upper body, skirt for lower body and boots for foot slots. As mentioned befor the clothes show up correctly at the CS and inGame. Also i picked exactly the same body parts to assign them that the original mod uses. Btw. while using the original mod, this problem doesn't occur.

I think i've read something about clothes and armours beeing somehow "binded" to their original esp somewhere but i fail to find that thread again.

Maybe the problem is connected to this somehow? Cause while using vanilla clothes, or clothes from several other mods this problem doesn't occur with my newly created NPC's so i think it isn't connected to an animation issue.

Best regards,

Neferath

PS: The clothes iam trying to implement to my own mod is the original russian HGEC version of Ryk Athol Brose - http://www.ei-der-zeit.com/forum/index.php?page=Thread&postID=104552 (Actually the original mod was hosted at anvil bay but since it is down i'am posting a link to the translated version. I only took the black skirt+blouse+boots from that mod and skipped the rest.)

My Goodness, this is EXACTLY what I did to my Abysmer Race just yesterday: I gave them the ability to cause Shock Damage on touch... but I didn't change the range to "Touch" and it stayed as "Self".

So every time I loaded the Alpha in-game, my poor character was constantly and permanently zapping himself to death!

I discovered it AFTER I posted my suggestion about the paralizing spell on the clothes. What a coincidence!

But everything is OK now, for you and me. High Five!

Cheers!
