[REQ] Darker Daedra Lord Armour

Hi guys.

I love McMuffin's Daedra/Dremora Lord armour, the Morrowind-style set, but I also love Satu's Daedric Armor BLACK. I use the two- I spend much time in the Deadlands plane with Amozabael, and I really like the jet black Oblivion style armour.

But my character, in his Morrowind-style, seems a little out of place. His armour is more grey than black and, as much as I love the armour, and hate to criticise, I really want the two sets to 'match' better.

So I've tried the GIMP, I've tried CS4, I've retetured everything I can think to, to lower brightness by -150 and raise contrast by 10. The texture I've used on a shield has worked, but on the armour itself (cuirass etc) it's just invisible. I can't think how this could be a mapping problem, as the filenames are the same. The textures seem to work in Oblivion, as I said, because the shield is visible, and that uses my 'darkened' tex.

So, for some reason, I can't do this. Frustrating as a sticky caps lock key. So I wonder- can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong, or attempt a similar feat and tell me if it worked?

Thanks...

I'm a slightly confused as to why someone would have reported you... nothing wrong in your post as far as I can see.

--------

first thing that pops into my head would be are you saving mipmaps? if not and you are on less than 100% graphics some things will be invis.

can't really think of anything else so if that isn't the case reply back and I'll give it a quick looksie into doing it.

I think someone asked for a move...It would fit better in the mod-troubleshooting or the other one.

Lighting has become quite influential in Oblivion. I have done a recolor to gray some while ago...

It looked more like blueish inside the game....quite a waste of my time...

Whenever I am working with retextures I usually use these settings (I use Photoshop CS4)

But if you still have problems, send me the textures and I'll see what I can do.

I seem to be using the same settings as you... The textures are McMuffin's standard ones that come with the Daedric Lord Armour, I've not played with them successfully yet... still working on it...

Thanks very much for the offer :)
