ED-E with personality

So the first time I met ED-E was when I played Lonesome Road, and I met clone!ED-E before repairing the original in Primm. I completely fell in love with ED-E and greatly mourned the fact that I couldn't take him with me at the end of Lonesome Road. "But!" I thought to myself, "All is not lost! There's still the original in Primm!" So I went to Primm and repaired the broken little bot, overjoyed to have my ED-E back. Only... it wasn't my ED-E. It was a bland, personality-less robot who followed me around and had the same beep for everything. "Where was the sneaky beeping?" I wondered. "What happened to the scared beeping?"

The original ED-E is, simply put, boring as hell. I miss the personality of clone!ED-E, whom I absolutely adore.

In show, I want a mod that basically transfers clone!ED-E's personality onto the original.

Please?

(Or, y'know, if this is something built into the game and I just needed to already have ED-E repaired when I played Lonesome Road, let me know and I'll slink away in shame LOL)

Yeah he's a freakN adorable little bucket of bolts. Especially his ro/bromance with Ralphie

I don't believe so because I had ED-E tagging along long, long before lonesome road. You get the Camarader-E perks, but no personality change that I noticed. Plus they are completely different actors, but I don't see why (as long as one has lonesome road), on the face of it, one couldn't add some of the behaviors to teh original. Let me do a bit of research on it.

That would be AWESOME if you could work that out! :D:D:D

I actually did this for my ED-E, I made him make use of the new animations to add some good personality to him. It works really well and was not hard to do, I had planned on possible releasing it but I need to remake the .esp because it was for my personal use and is unbalanced with the crafting system.

If no one has made somthing like this by the time I finish work on some of my other mods I will see about making one, but it will be awhile as I have more pressing WIPs right now. :)

No sweat, I don't think it will be all that difficult. I'll take a look at it tonight.

TheTruthBetween you'll have to be the beta tester because frankly it's been so long since I played LR I don't even remember most of the changes from vanilla/mojave ED-E. I'll get most of my info from any quests adn scripts associated with ED-E #2 in LR, but if you could list all of changes that you remember it might be helpful (in case I miss something).

I can do that, no problem :yes:

Off the top of my head right now, there's sneaky beeping when you start sneaking, scared beeping when enemies are detected, happy beeping when you talk to him... and I'll totally have to reply LR to remember any more, as I'm currently operating on 2 hours of sleep LOL

Sounds good. I think I'll be doing some modding this evening and maybe a bit on Sunday too. I was thinking that the lonesome road stuff is good (and I'll do that first), but is really just a start. I think we can come up with more stuff to add. Some ideas;

1. ED-E wears hats (randomly) that you put in his inventory. You know s/he wants to :wink: And s/he would be styl'n;

Optionally If we replace his gun with the multiuse tool that the ED-E clone and med eyebots have he could hold and fire firearms as well.

2. Smoke (and even flames) begins to pour out of ED-E when s/he's heavily damaged. Here is a example of what it would look like;

Whe s/he heals at the end of combat there is a visual effect. A good example would be the compliance regulator effect. I use it for a visual cue to an upgrade for another bot based companion and I think it's a good effect for a self repair circuit/function.

And I'm sure we can come up with many more ideas.

EDIT: Ooops forgot the spoiler tags
