ok where to begin, well i'm going to be as constructive as possible. first, to be blunt, it looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you and i'm assuming those screens aren't the final product.

how far along are you?

i'll tell you right now that for the mod i'm working on i've spent about a week just planning, drawing, and making maps for my island and haven't put anything into the game yet (except for some books). also you might wanna show off some custom 3d work, the kiddies on this forum eat it up.

main thing when taking on a major mod project is not to take on too much or else you'll loose interest really fast for trying to do too much. already i've made made cuts in the quests so i don't get ahead of myself.

i'm just wondering how much before CS time you put into planning for the mod because it looks like this one has potential and i don't wanna see it flop or end up being bad. another thing to consider is doing all the custom 3d work before you make your island, for some reason you get a better idea of how the place is supposed to feel when you add your own flare to it.

good luck and keep us posted

Well alot. When i first started (experienced) modding i envyed all those big mods coming out so i figured id try to do something myself. I didnt really say anything in public about it it was just an idea. I was on a 6 hour plane ride from Boston to LA and the whole time i was drawing maps, writing a storyline, and ideas. By the time i was back in boston, i had 2 notepads full of information for this mod. So alot of pre planning went into this. Another thing is, my 2 favorite parts of modding are making challenging quests and landscaping. So I combined the 2 and made Aramethia.

Pwety cities. Like thanateros said, don't try to do to much at once. I once made myself an ebonhear the size of vivec, and like 30 new cities, whole mod was so full of bugs. all i did were add npc's, exteriors and interiors. no landscaping, scripting or dialogue. looks great, good luck!

Yeah, I'm trying to start a few bigger projects lately, I have written nearly five pages of history for my Firefly Abbey mod, which will be a murder mystery type of quest with a lot of clues and puzzles. I think your mod looks like it has a lot of potential, you just need to slow it down a bit, it looks a tad bit rushed in some areas, Though I am no expert. ;)

glad to hear the feedback is helping a bit. as far my own techniques right now in preparation for my upcoming mod i'm really working on getting the literature ingame first. nothing will wet you appetite to create a truely remarkable setting than some books you write on your own dedicated towards you mod. this does two things. first it gives you a chance to show off your creative flare and really suck people into the idea that you've set the bar of authenticity really high and people will look forward to quests and NCP's equally as detailed. it also serves as a way to organize your mod into section that perhaps you can work on one at a time. of you look in my thread about my upcoming venture and dl my mod read through the books and notice the attention i pay to detail in how they are organized. not only does this paint a clear picture for the reader but also allows me to reference those books so that when various NPC's are asked about certain events or people it will coincide with the literature already published.

I think more attention for modders needs to focus on working the literature, NPC development and then culture and finally the landscape itself.

Not to sell my own house mod but take a look at how i utilize the texts in order to create a stronger atmosphere and really breathe life into the house not only as a structure but as a container of information and even history. So far i have written 4 book, each about 10 pages (in game) in length that discuss various topics, including some related to the eventual mod. this place will also serve as a testing site for my custom weapons and armor as i develop them later.

hope this helps.
