Hi folks

For a modding newbie such as myself, i have a hard time finding my way around hundreds of hundred of mods.. i don't know any of them and i don't know which to choose.

So, can anybody help me with finding an all-in-one mod? One that has collected all the best mods into one super-mod. It would really help me out!

Thanks fellas

Firstly, welcome to the Nexus :)

There is no such Mod for Skyrim I'm afraid, the closest you'll get really are the bug fix Mods, the Unofficial Patches. Pretty much every Mod is compatible with them and most modders recommend using them.

The compilation Mods that most readily spring to mind are Immersive Weapons and Immersive Armors which are compilations of the best (although that's subjective) weapons and armour Mods to be found here on the Nexus.

I'd recommend taking your time, get to know how it all works and, whatever you do, make sure to read the documentation provided by each Modder in their Mod description, ReadMe file and any sticky posts (these are found with a red box around them at the top of every Mod comments page) that there may be.

You can also find lots of useful information by searching through the threads here for topics you might want to know more about.

If you're respectful, patient and follow the site rules, someone will most likely help you out.

Good luck

Oh alright.. was hoping there was an overhaul-mod, like there is for Rome 2: Total which also has a large modding community (mostly because vanilla sucks).

I'll definitely be starting out with the Unofficial Patches - seems like the right thing to do if most modders recommend them :)

See you on the forums :)

There is simply too many mods covering the same thing, however catering to different types of players. In addition your mods selection will heavily depend on your pc performance and installed dlc's. Lastly each mod has it's own author that takes credit for his work (download count and endorsements) and many popular mods are updated on regular basis.

The best you can do is follow "STEP - Skyrim Total Enhancement Project" guide available on skyrim nexus page.

The Gopher Beginner's Guide to Skyrim modding is a VERY good place to start. With these tutorials you can hardly go wrong.

Gophers youtube channel will give A LOT if not the most information about how to start becoming a very safe and stable mod USER (not modder). He also showcases alot of mods on his channel and describes them in detail. From bugs they may have to how to safely use them and even suggestions to the mod authors sometimes.

Also make sure you have BOSS to sort your load order and give you valuable information like missing required mods, incompatibilities between mods you have and if any mods you have are "dirty". Clean your mods with TES5edit. SKSE is recommended but not a must. Most mods have it as a requirement though.

A little confusing at first but you'll get the hang of it all.
If the nexus seems a little to big at first just use the "categories" button on the top right side of the page and go to "most endorsed" or "most downloaded". Most of these mods will be rather stable (doesn't mean they're all be compatible though) and IMO are quite good. Once your more used to everything just run around the Nexus site searching for whatever you want.
