Fire Multiple Arrows With 1 Shot

I posted the same idea over at PES, but their boards are pretty much dead, so I thought I would try here too.

 

I think it would be neat if there was a mod that allows you to shoot multiple arrows with one shot, kind of like a shotgun. I know there are several OBSE functions that seem like they could relate. Here are some of em.

Clone Form

Get Key Press

Get Weapon Type

This is how I see it being done:

 

1. Player does whatever requirements (learn a certain spell, have a certain bow or arrow equipped, have a certain item in inventory)

2. Player knocks an arrow and pulls the bowstring back (just holding the attack button)

3. Longer you hold the attack button down, the more arrows appear. They would all be close together, facing the same direction as the original arrow. (some sort of limiter on this like it depends on marksman skill or something)

4. Release attack button, and all arrows fire at same speed and angle.

I'm not sure it is possible though, but I hope this could bring it a bit closer.

lol hey. Yeah the triple arrows is neat, but its just arrows that do triple damage and with special arrow meshes that just look like three arrows. Not exactly what I want but its still neat. But yeah I've been starting to do some OBSE mod work, still working to get the hang of it. Yeah this does seem like it wouldn't be easy, or even possible. But if we learn one thing from playing and making mods, its that a lot is possible, as long as we have the inspiration to search for a way to get it.

scripting for arrows is to say the least horrific... I've been meshing and texturing to Tek for his Flaming Arrows so I should know. He has been unable to script it to play shaders until the arrow is released, and I made a lovely mesh particle system that worked fine in the quiver and if the arrow was dropped but a knocked arrow wouldn't play or even more irksomely after firing no particle system.

I would suggest PMing Tekuromoto in regards to the scripting, he might be able to give you some tips or be willing to code it and include it in Flaming Arrows.

Seems like a good idea, BadPrenup. Maybe Tekuromoto knows what to do....

It would be cool to have this, but have the arrows shoot at different angles such as a scatter shot.

 

And since there are two ways you can shoot, (Hold the bow normally or sideways) you can pick how you want the arrows to be shot.

 

Normal Bow

You shoot three arrows, except the on on top is a higher angle, (The tip of the crosshair) Middle stays the same, Lower (Lower tip of the crosshair)

 

Bow tilted sideways (There are two different animations, not sure if it looks like this only when you sneak)

 

Arrows spread out from Left, Middle, Right. (But in this you can choose if you want to have it spread, or shoot it normally, and the Triple shot should take up three arrow ammunition)
