kenedii
I'm trying to modify HMF_ARM_CTHk .dds files and I keep getting this error message for the 6 mods I've tested: System format exception: different image format, original is DXT5, new is DXT1.ME3Explorer texplorer saltTexture2d oneimage to rule them all - string image file name, string archivedirME3Explorer texplorer texploere add biggest image tool strip menu item click - object send, event args e I 'think' what needs to be done is the .dds files have opened up and then re-saved in the correct DTX (5 vs 1) format in PSP or another compatible program? Any advice on how to go about t his would be great. Thanks.
KFreon
You would be correct. There are a number of ways to do this. 1) Download the DirectX SDK for windows. Once installed, right click on the image and go "Convert to file format".2) Way easier way is to get ME3Explorer and use TPFTools. Drag the image in there and right click -> Extract and Convert. Now this one might be a little flaky. No one's gotten back to me about it.3) If you have Photoshop, just open the image in there and save as .dds, making sure you enable mip generation and select the right format.4) GIMP has a similar set of options, but Google will be more helpful there. If you do use the TPFTools way, I'd appreciate feedback to know if it works :)
XxBastetxX
Hi KFreon, I tryed to convert a DXT5 via the TPFTools like you suggested, but alltough it says File saved at the end, it doesn´t change anything. If i try to create the DXT1 in a new file it simply doesn´t create it.
KFreon
If you have the latest svn, autofix doesn't work just yet.If not, autofix has some flaws. So you'll have to use the PortableDirectX tools in ME3Explorer -> bin -> debug -> exec (or something like that) and Change Surface Format.
