Consistent crash in Midea's house

Alright, so my game crashes during the Unsafe Working Conditions quest in The Pitt. Once I enter Midea's house, she tells me I have to go watch Ashur's speech outside. She leaves the house, and I want to follow her. However, once I leave the house, my game crashes at the loading screen. Always.

 

I have no idea how to fix this. I've tried disabling all my mods, making the game vanilla. No luck. I tried turning off the auto-save function. Nothing.

 

What else can I do? I'm just stuck in that little house now and can't get out.

 

I'm running FO3 with the 1.6 patch (probably shouldn't have patched to this, but I wanted Point Lookout). For mods I use FOMM, and FOSE is installed for certain mods. But like I said before, even with all my mods turned off, it still refuses to work. And when I try playing with FOSE, through the original Fallout3.exe, I can't even load my game in Midea's house without crashing.

 

Is there any way to teleport myself outside or something? I reckon that has potential to fix things, but I wouldn't be surprised if it crashes the game too.

 

So yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated. I really like The Pitt so far and would love being able to complete it.

 

System specs:

 

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

ATi Radeon 4870 1GB

ASUS P5K Motherboard

2x1GB Kingston HyperX 900MHz PC6400

 

Game is installed to the C drive, and I already disabled Fallout in the fddshow settings.

Edit: Even the player.moveto command didn't work. I guess this is doomed to fail.

 

Edit 2: Downgrading to 1.0.0.15 doesn't do it either. I give up.

You could reinstall fallout, and load the save again without no mods and no extra files, unlikely it will wokr but worth a try if you are out of options

otherwise you could use coc megatonclinic, go out, fast travel to the train tunnnel then go to as close as possible to Mideas house, if Ashur is giving his speech you will need to use tcl to get into the square and if not you will need to go back into her house

The initial crash may have left temporary (.TMP) files on your harddisk - not sure of the precise tech details but every time you try accessing the same area, corrupt data in one of these .tmp files gets referenced & the crash repeats - try clearing them down (run a search & delete them).

 

Works for me & it's a good place to start.

I managed to fix it by waiting 5 days (and another for the sake of it). This reloaded all cells and allowed me to go outside finally.

 

 

I'm glad to have finally completed The Pitt. What a crash zone. Unbelievable.
