videogameruler
ok. your first reaction is probably "can he run it" and the answer is yes. i did a test and i can run the game. i bought it on steam and i have vista home basic 32-bit if that helps at all. ive read that vista + steam + fallout 3=epic fail but sadly i didnt read until AFTER i downloaded it.so anyway i can pretty much get to the main screen where it says continue, load, new, etc. etc. but whenever i click new it loads all the way and RIGHT before it starts it says "fallout3 had crashed" ow whatever. i have tried the newest official patch, ive tried the vista codec, the communist codec thing and unofficial patch and it still hasnt worked. as far as i know thats all ive done and im pretty shure i installed all of them correctly but if there is anything you could tell me it would be extremely appreciated.also i updated my drivers. Gishank
I manage to run Fallout 3 via STEAM on Vista without any modifications to the game itself, be it admin-mode, etc. If you are absolutely sure you have the latest drivers and your hardware meets the requirements then i suggest you right-click on fallout 3 in steam and click "Delete Local Content" and redownload it. Carf
I only can say, are you STILL getting C.T.D's on FL3, getting tired of getting the same hits on Google. Then try this! !!!!!!!!!GeForce Release 180 BETA 180.84 driver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us It is an OLD driver, instead of a new one the older one is WAY more stable.Let me know if it worked out for you. It took me more then 3 months to fix this issuebut now its finally running...smoothly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Btw, DO NOT forget to uninstall your former drivers first, best is with a driver cleaner. Then install the old version. I did not use Safe mode at all.Just uninstall, let windows get back to its native reso, install the new one, restart and RUN it ;) please let me know if it worked out, cause then I deserve a hug ;p
videogameruler
ive reinstalled it already but ill try it again if that helps. yeah i just tried getting the old driver but still wont work. the only reason i got it for pc and on steam was i let my friend play my fallut 3 and i let him start a new one. he then saved over my account which i had since the game came out. this is the 360 version so i wanted to get it for PC because of the mods and the console commands and all the extra stuff u can do on it that you cant do on the 360 version. i bought it on steam because it was on sale that day and i really need my money for other stuff but it was only 25 dollars that day so i said well why not but now i regret buying it. i think im gonna have to upgrade my computer some more sometime this year so hopefully that will workthanks anyway :wallbash:
