trknman
Gentle Folks...It's me again. Got something else to whine about now. Actually this is a spin-off from my other problem. Well, here it is. I load up the CS, checking all the appropriate esm's/esp's, including the latest version of "Beautiful People"(which we all know contains Ren's beauty products, plus beaucoup other mods) and everything is hunky dory. Ren's hairs show up fine in the CS character editor window, and if I do say so myself some of my creations are stunning. The problem arises when I put them in the game. They don't show up. I get either a random hair or no hair at all. Now here is something to really throw a monkey wrench in the gears. Last night I tried making an Ice Elf character, and just for the h... of it, I attached one of Ren's hair products. It showed up just like it was supposed to be there. I am at my wit's end. Please, if anybody has an idea what I am doing wrong, correct/point me in the right direction. Otherwise just shoot me. Thanx for your patience in reading my sad lament. ps I have Wrye Bash, OBSE, BOSS and OBMM, though I don't use them all at the same time.
Nexus Set
Since you mentioned using the CS, I'd assume that you are making NPCs for a mod? If that is the case, the mod you're making would be dependent on the Beautiful People.ESP cosmetic mod.IIRC, mods can't be dependent on other ESPs, but they can be dependent on ESM files. You'll have to convert the Beautiful People.ESP to an ESM in Wrye Bash/OBMM and load the ESM version in the CS and use that for the NPCs in the mod you are making. BossDweebe
To add hair to an NPC you need to make it available for the whole race.In CS click on Character then Hair. Make a new hair here with your own nameusing the Ren mesh(s) you want to use. Then open the race you want the hair for and click on Body Data then drag and drop thehair to the hair styles box on the far right. It is now available and should work.Note - some hair may not appear to work in CS (floats above head), but works in game. Also try some wig mods. They are mostly animated and clip less that static hair. They can be added to NPC's as amulet or ring in CS. I don't have Ice Elf, but it may be that it includes the hair with the race.
