Ginrikuzuma Posted February 8, 2014 Share Posted February 8, 2014 I'm right now in the process of back-ing up games from steam from one hard drive since I plan on transfering all my games to another drive. Among those games I have my modded Skyrim so I was wondering if there was anything I needed to do before I transfered Skyrim to the new hard drive? I figure NMM will tell me it can't find Skyrim and search my hard drives. Will NMM find Skyrim on my new hard drive already AND know what mods are installed? If not is there anything I can do to help it already know which mods are active or deactivated, etc. ? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bben46 Posted February 8, 2014 Share Posted February 8, 2014 If you can, use the steam mover that is built into steam - it will move steam and every game in steam with no hassle. Just copying a game like skyrim from one drive to another doesn't work. Thank Windows and their registry for that. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=231 Before trying to use NMM make sure the game works using the steam launcher ( or the game launcher instead of the NMM launcher) NMM will still be looking for your games in the old place, so you will need to change that - use the rescan for installed games, it will probably find the old location first. click on the red x instead of the green check and it will scan again - if it finds the game in the new location click the green check.
